My first new vehicle (Longest INTRO thread)

New Member here, trolling here for about a month just checking out the community. I was always a Honda/ Nissan guy but love my first Toyota 2nd Gen '12 TRD SB DC OR. I was always a fan of the 4.0 1GR's

 

This is my first truck. A 2001 2.7 manual with over 500,000 miles. I know this thing will always need work but I plan on babying the thing to make it last even longer. I am the 2nd owner after the original owner passed away due to cancer. The truck sat at his sister's home for 4 years until my uncle asked them if they wanted to sell it. We arranged everything and I bought it for just $600. I still don't have my liscense so my uncle drove it home and it has been sitting in my garage since may. I am open to suggestions and advice to make the thing last.

 

Just purchased 2021 White Tacoma TRD PRO, ordered April 2, 2021, took home on July 13, 2021. Will post photos soon in a build page. Lot's of ideas and hopes. Mom still has a 2001 Tacoma...

New member here also, and first Tacoma. Having fun with mods. Never made mods to past cars and trucks. This is almost like getting another motorcycle and making it my own. But really posting to make sure you keep the title for longest intro thread.

Hi. Seattle area. First Tacoma.

Bought the truck to shuttle bikes more than anything.

 

G'day everyone; I just joined this forum a few minutes ago.

I live in lower mainland ( Vancouver B.C) This is my first Tacoma year 2020, 6 speed, crew cab whit a 6 ft bed. After 160Km (99 miles ) I replaced the tires to Goodyear duratrack 265/70R/16. Also I installed a Canopy from SoftTopper ( Boulder Colorado ). After I drove my TacoPlastic about 1800km (1118miles) on paved road then I went to off roading to places that I used to go to test The TacoPlastic.

Honestly I'm very disappointed whit the Taco, Before this truck I had a Toyota Land-cruise series 70, the truck was 32 years old when I sold it, I had it for 12 years, there is no comparison whit the Taco and the Toyi ( Land cruiser ) the taco is an expensive truck and a lots of weak components. Among 4x4 that you can get in North America, I think Tacoma is the best. Anyhow I stuck whit this truck and I will try to enjoyed it the best I can.
