And look at all the American make cars (insert dripping sarcasm here)

(Not to be confused with made in America which I believe a number of those are.)

We've got a Forester and a Tacoma but the one I've kept the longest so far is the 911. I've always said I'd sell it when it hits $100K in value, but who really knows what I'll do as it's creeping up there pretty fast.

I tend to keep my cars a very long time, however I come from a family where a car gets traded after four years good or bad. I think a lot of times it has more to do with boredom with a car then any sort of mechanical issue. I used to have a 4Runner which mechanically was sound but became boring to me (after 12) years so it went away.

That said, depending on how the next gen Tundra turns-out my Taco may not be around that long.

Yea we got a 2017 Forester as well. A 911 would look very swell in my driveway, and I would look real good in one too LOL.
I believe the 911 is the best designed automobile in the world. The form and function is unmatched. To sit in one and drive it
is nothing less than nirvana. It's like if cars were to produce drivers then the 911 would produce humans. The fit is like a
    glove on a hand.

Yea me too - typically not less than 10 years and then like you, it's more about boredom and wanting something fresh than mechanical issues.
That, coupled with the fact that I'm a cheap-azz-tight-wad ... if I were well heeled well that would be another story too.

Kinda surprised the F150 didn't make the cut - they seem to go on and on too.

You couldn't be more right. Fabulous car in both design and execution. Here's a shot from turn 5 at Laguna Seca during a track day a few years ago - cornering about as hard as it would corner at about 85 mph. Totally exhilarating especially knowing that the corkscrew is just around the corner at the top of the hill. This one is an '88 with about 150K miles on it. Doesn't burn a drop of oil and will get 30 mpg at a steady 70 mph. Instructor on headset next to meIMG_2462.jpg

Drove one when I was 18. Guy at a bar was cold drunk his buddy asked me to 'drive-his-car' to a location and he would
drive his buddy home. Pitched me the keys to a Red 911. Almost fainted. Had no idea it was a 5 speed I was burning up
the road in 1-4.... I became one with the machine - wanted one ever since but I'm poorly so it never happened LOL

It'd kill you to know what I paid for it in '03 vs. what it's worth today. Even more unaffordable now. Hell, I could afford one now but there's no way I would.
