I've been ignoring some family texts till recently (see, I was ignoring everyone equally) and I finally let myself cave.

Why in the hell did my stepmom ask me if I have a venmo??? No!!!!!! For the millionth time, I don't have one and I'm not getting one. Ffs I've had PayPal for over 10 years now.

 

Tell that to my collection of hats! Like I'd get ready like that every day for work unless it's the Ho's side gig

My brother and I used to be real close, the past 7-8 years not so much. I sent him a genuine heartfelt text a few months ago. He responded the next day with one that I know he wouldn't say the stuff he text to my face. I hate it but it is what it is. I haven't told my wife what he said and probably never will. It was uncalled for and I don't care if I ever see him again at this point.

 

I don't believe I ever purposefully ignore text but sometimes a phone call I'll cancel. Nothing personal but sometimes if your busy WHATEVER, I might have to put a person off for awhile. I had to Google venmo, I'd never heard of it. If she ask again for the umpteenth time, perhaps ask if she's got a couple hundred thousand for ya???

 

Justsorry to hear that. I had something similar on my birthday, my mom call to wish me a happy birthday and told me after her last recent conversation with my brother that she didn't care if she ever spoke to him again. The things he said are so not like him so he must be having some major emotional or midlife crisis issues. I haven't decided how, but feel I need to reach out to him.

I'm sorry and I get that. I have an older sister I don't talk to and in addition to that I am at this weird crossroads with my family and it's just exhausting.

"I miss you guys"... We've been out twice since we've moved! My father and stepmom will likely never visit and that's okay, I honestly don't know if I would want them to. It's not okay though to constantly put the burden on me. I've got other places I'd rather spend 2000 miles going to.

I have zero clue why she wants the ability to send me money. I ask for nothing. I have always asked for nothing. Hell, I just had a conversation with my mother the other day and told her specifically that neither my sister or I need/want their money so spend what they have on themselves (she was looking for real estate advice at the time).

Ugghhhhh...

 

Sorry brother, it sucks. I have tried and I am at peace with what I have said to them. It's on them now.
