I'm not this detailed for my truck maintenance - I just do date, mileage, and what service I performed. My financial spreadsheet is ridiculous, though. I track every penny, and keep logs of things like heating oil deliveries so I can anticipate future costs by the gallons I've used in the past and the current rate.

See the funny part is - I'm flipside. We have piped natural gas. Water, electricity, and gas I just run with what I get. National grid does a leveling for free so I pay the same over the year +/- 10 bucks or so every quarter. I track my mortgage, and loans in general (if I had car loans, I would be tracking, student loans). But my financials I let Mint do the heavy lifting.

I remember the F150s coming with dual tanks..and the switch to flip the tank you were drawing from.

And whoever said it, yup winter fuel sucks. I had almost a full tank in my truck when I dropped it off in April. Drove it to about half and topped with 93 octane since.

I just run regular. :notsure: I don't know that it's winter mix or running more shenanigans/heat, but yeah my tables and numbers show it - typical change of 1-2 MPG, but a HUGE part of that, I think for me, is that in the winter I drive to and from work and do F all else - I hate the winter, so there's no highway miles in there. Summer I'm hitting up VT, ME, etc all the time.

My buddy's brother had an old lightning with the two tanks. And it needed it. That thing was .... well, it was fun. We'll leave it at that

I always run regular as well. Being that I had a nearly full tank of 3 month old fuel, I figured spring for half a tank of 93 just in case..

Same here, but I also only owned 1 Chevy so far. It was the 5.3L before the cylinder shut off crap, that was a pretty solid truck. The stereo gave up the ghost at one point and I had the dash go out on me. I replaced the stereo with something decent and I had to pay for the dash out of pocket (pissed me off at the time). Chevy eventually cut me a check about a year later for the repair but it was after I traded it in for my Tacoma.

I hate this shit......if anything gets my blood boiling it's this. So I pull up to staples and pull right next to a car with a dog in the car. Husky, long hair. The car was already there when I got there. Car not running, windows rolled up and car locked. I stay in my truck for 10 minutes and then call the police. The police show up and now it's been 20 minutes. (I checked the MA laws before I did anything and I can only break the window if the dog looks like it is passing out or in extreme distress. ) The cop goes into the store and the 20 yo douchebag comes out looking like the dog did something wrong, opened the door,, and took the dog out and brought him inside the store. If the cop wasn't there when he came out I would have let the little punk fucking have it. 85° outside and he thinks he did nothing wrong. CT plates. I was sooooooo ready to have the dispatcher tell me to break the fucking windows. I had water in a coffee mug ready to give to the dog. DON'T BE LIKE THIS FUCKING GUY!!!!

I hope the cop gave him a lecture at least. Grrrr..I won't even leave my cats in the truck for a minute regardless of weather.

That said, cop or no cop I would have said some things to him that would have blistered paint.

It's an honorable thing that you did.

    Pisses me off as well.
After a well deserved face adjustment, the doosh should be locked in the car for a couple hours, just because.

But hey, it's not like they're cold weather dogs... Some people shouldn't have pets.

I would have broke the window then called the cops. It's hot as shit today and I couldn't sit in my truck without AC for 5 minutes.

Your cats are okay with travel? The annual journey to the vet for ours is never a wonderful experience.

Ozzy is a loudmouth and a half about it. Chase and Thug Rose are pretty quiet..hell, Thug doesn't have a meow that human ears can hear. Getting them in the carrier can be an adventure..I just lock them in the bathroom, then bring in the carrier. Less places to hide in there

You've got more patience than I do, I know for a fact my wife would've broke the window and told the kid to deal with it (among other things)
My ginger starts freaking out, drooling thick mucus, tries to rub his face off on the carrier...moving him 4 ish hours is gonna be an experience...
