If the cover fits and you have 4 brackets, it sounds like you just need 2 more brackets. I know the safety straps are a newer option, my 2016 Didnt have them.

I was even thinking of detaching them permanently since I take my cover off weekly in the summer and fall.

Interesting that my brother has a Tyger trifold on his 21 Sport and it is practically identical to the Gator. Hardware is practically identical down to the safety straps . His came with 3 sets of clamps also.

Ok. Maybe Im not understanding. My safety straps also have the aluminum clamps attached. They originally just hang down.. You just need 2 more brackets that fit in the bed rail to attach them to.

If you look at the existing brackets used in your bed rail for the front and rear clamps they should be the exact same as what you need . Mine just clamped onto a 3rd set of bedrail brackets..

Nice looking cover, but I try not to buy Chinese crap for my rigs. I got my DB cover, and it was made in your state.

I see Gator claim made in USA, but for $260. I cant belive it.
Most likely assembled here with Chinese parts.

I hooked mine here, to the bottom of the side clamps.

So if they spring-loaded, top-to-clamp hook lets go, I have a secondary tether. If the clamp itself lets go, obviously they won't help much.

This thread reminds me I should get in their and re-snug everything up now that the top has been on for a while.

The fabric of mind flutters a bit on the highway but the assemble doesn't lift at all. I get a little water inside from a heavy storm but I never did the tailgate weatherstripping so it's likely coming from there.

For $250 on a lease truck, I'm 100% happy with it.

Sporin has done what im talking about except he had to put 2 clamps on 1 bracket.
If he had the 2 extra brackets then the clamps would just attach to the bottom as his did in the photo .

Ok. This is comical… 7a and 7b look like the same clamps.

A bolts to an actual flange, B bolts to a ‘flange bracket’ that you slide in to the rail system.

But anyway it sounds like you have it under control, Im sure you’ll do fine! I feel like Im beating a dying horse..

I will say that these Gator parts and instructions are all over the place for what should be a pretty simple item. A company this large shouldn't have so many customers just trying to figure it out.

Also, I have a totally different back clamp than you guys where you have that big flippy lever, I have this vertical handle on a spring that you pull down on. It accomplishes the same task but I'd have prefered the ones you guys show (as that was what was in the ad).

Like I said, I'm very pleased with the functionality, looks and price, but the instructions process from Gator could use some improvements.

Yup, Ideally, there would be a second bracket there to attach the safety straps to instead of using the same bracket for both tie-down points.

Love my tri-fold soft top. I only use it in the Fall/Winter/Spring to keep snow out of the box. Summer is too hard on it.

But love the fact that I can remove it, if I'm out somewhere, and put it in the back seat, if I have to put something big in the box.

I've had my Gator for more than 3 years now and it's been flawless. Best bang for the buck.
