And I'm not sure you want to be "special" like me...

I have to give the bookshelf a fair shake; it really was a nicely done build. What really makes it work is that it doesn't strike you as Lego at first glance. It also lights up, plus there's a motorized feature: Grogu's head/arm move and the Star Wars book swivels open to reveal Darth Vader and some stormtroopers.





In the end it was all good. Everyone was in good spirits, and the castle builder and I were joking with the bookshelf guy and giving him crap because we were "beaten out by a piece of furniture". Still a huge honor to have been ranked with just skilled builders during my first show.

Here are some pics of more work by Aaron, who built Bag End and won Builder of the Plains. The guy is crazy talented.





The theme award was Return of the Brick. It was awarded to a Hoth display by some of the members of the Springfield, MO group and had its own special trophy.




Overall it was a fantastic time. Met some great people and got a lot of ideas for future projects. Also got to drink some beers in the parking lot with the Brickmania crew on Saturday. Good times all around.

 

Haha some would have been nice to get closer for pics but I was way to nervous to be around them so I tried staying back lol

Yeah, people thought it was cool. Kinda got overshadowed by my other builds

 

i got a few photos of it also i just got tired last night after 6+ hours of driving in a lowered car that i ended up passing out at 2 or 3am lol


also if you ever want to make a diorama and do photos to make the boats the rover or anything like that look real or like it was taken in time let me know it sounds fun

ya i know lol i was at the junk yard saturday then woke up late on sunday lol still got to see a lot of cool stuff thou

 

well out of 200+ photos i got 98ish that came out good some are blurry because i got bumped and didnt realize it but i feel the build should still be seen so im posting them i wanted to get even close shots and do cooler things but i did come in late plus i was nervous being around the builds haha

also tw needs to change how it does file uploads this one at a time crap gets old.....

 

pt2 i have so many more to do but i gotta go to work now so ill post the rest tonight or tomorrow

 

I just noticed the eyes in the cargo hold @Sear87 You might've pointed them out to me when I came over but I can't remember.

yup yup it was neat seeing that lol i have even more to look at but this site sucks ass when it comes to uploading pictures!!!! one at a time is how it does it vs civicx (even thou its limited on file size i can click multiple and it will upload everything i tell it to

 

yup! it was pretty awesome and i missed a lot of things or didnt get pics because people were tearing stuff down sadly i wanted to buy a lego kit but nothing i wanted was really up there lol

That was a pretty impressive pirates display from a few guys out of Springfield, MO. Lots of cool details. Other than them, I was the only one who brought ships.

Roadrunner/coyote are by a seriously talented builder named Chris Goddard (eurotrashroadtrip on Instagram) He does some fantastic work which I've followed for a few years now. It was awesome to finally meet him.

You're probably better off having not bought anything there. Prices were not favorable...
