Lol yes BUT i kinda do it on purpose to give brother joe something to do…. I help mow when I can so why not have fun doing…. :D It ain’t often we head into the swamp land to mow… it’s been dry for a week BUT that didn’t help… joe kept saying “we need to wait another week” me, beer and my tractor go places!!! Where we go, we not need roads, just a winch or 2:D

That front plate seems like a perfect place to mount a QD winch.........

    Just saying, no reason.

New stator and voltage regulator as well as a replacement magnet epoxied onto the inside of the flywheel.

Old mags were taped in. Some sort of vinyl tape was helping holding the mags in position. I've never seen this before, but I'm sure it happens.

Inside of flywheel area was pretty nasty. She should cool a lot better now.

    No head gaskets were needed.

Engine is installed and running properly putting out 14+ volts at a high idle.IMG_20210723_221438374.jpg IMG_20210723_220429798.jpg IMG_20210723_221447793.jpg IMG_20210723_220508596.jpg IMG_20210723_220605317.jpg

I ponied up for Kohler OEM.

I needed to have the parts by Friday night since my motor guy had Saturday free to rebuild the charging system.

Normally I'd just find the parts thru Stens or Amazon.

Prolly cost me an extra $100, but I got the thing back together quicker this way.

As opposed to hand digging about two dozen holes, probably. If it blows I use my backhoe.
Let people be happy, good lord.

For sure, it beats hell out of hand digging with a post hole digger.
Just got to be careful is all. I have one. Mine is no good on hardpack since there's no downforce with the 3 point. I'm not an expert, but I think it's only the very large tractors that can push down on the 3 point. Mine is a little bit floppy and vibratey too like it's not in perfect balance.
Another thing to watch out for is if you have grabby clay soil, you can suck it down the hole and if you can't reverse your PTO, you got yourself in a bit of a pickle. My theory that seemed to work for me was to run the thing full speed so that it was always shaving and never grabbing and let 'er down easy.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to rain on your parade. I'm genuinely curious if you'll feel the same as I did, that it's not a magic bullet without any of its own issues.
Won't stop me from digging holes with it though while the post hole digger rusts away in the corner of the shop :D

I have long thought the hand post hold digger is the #1 personal torture tool, #2 is the hand tamper. :bananadead:

Where I live it seems you can't plant a rose bush without using dynamite, wherever you want to dig is sheets of rock -- conversely, anywhere you want to drive is mud.

You know anybody with a Maple Grove account? My Dad ended up with one through a guy who passed on some lawnmower repair work and the prices are insanely cheap for really good quality parts.

Shipping is usually flat rate $10.00 even for orders including blades. BTW, they sell good quality blades incredibly cheap.

I had the front end torn apart on the 3205. Someone painted the frame w/o sanding it and that was cracked and falling off. I took off the brackets, sanded the old paint off, etching primed it, and painted the frame. Also painted the bolts, front axle and PTO.

Thanks for the tip! Ill research them and see if its worth it to have an account.

I need to figure out at what point it makes sense to have a source with cheaper prices. Redoing 3-6 mowers a year, it may make sense just to go thru Amazon. We will see.

    Thanks!

Our neighbor growing up fenced in his 20 acres to keep us off of it with our four wheelers, circa 1985. He dug every hole by hand, packed every post and put the woven wire up.....by himself.

Dad dug all his fence post by hand when we were kids too, my brother and I had the joy of tamping them all.

The cheapest blades you can buy, since the sand you are mowing thru is gonna wear them down Uber fast.
