Thanks! It took lots of patience and measuring, but those are the steps you have to take if you want something done right.

So I'm thinking of doing the timing belt, water pump, replace AC clutch bearing, and swap back to stock radiator. I've watched Timmys video and seems pretty straight forward, I'm gonna go thru AdventureTacos write up here soon. Anybody have any tips/tricks or things to watch for?

I've done a mod or two
It's plenty easy, @turbodb (adventuretaco) write-up is thorough. Only thing I'd add is don't fuck around with removing or putting the belt tensioner back in with the AC compressor bracket attached if it takes you more than 10mins to get a socket on it the way he has it written up, just eat the extra 20 mins and take the ac bracket off and lay it to the side and enjoy more room to work.

Greased the driveshaft and installed Skid Row Off Road IFS and transmission skid plates. There's a bit of a lip between the IFS and transmission skid which I can imagine being problematic if backing up over an obstacle. Do I need to crank on those bolts more or is this ok?

You can use a brake pedal spring from the dealer for like $6 and it’s able to handle constant use.

Yeah, i agree, I don't know why Skid Row provided such long bolts but they're definitely the right ones.

I don’t know if you be able to tighten them up enough to get the gap smaller or gone, probably run out of space for the bolt to go

Remove the bolts behind the transmission, then tighten the bolts where they join together. Cut if too long. Then put the bolts in behind the tranny.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

    20 ton harbor frieght press.

My neighbor turned a plate for me that supports the entire bearing when the hub is being pressed through. It also presses the entire bearing on the way out.

    Screenshot_20210726-133119_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20210726-133053_Video Editor.jpg

I just use one of the large sleaves from the ball joint press, I have, to make up the difference in depth. (This avoids the problem Timmy has with things getting stuck)

To press the bearing , I have a 1/2 inch thick plate that presses it in flush with outer rim, then I use an old bearing to press it the rest of the way home, past the groove for the c-clip.

thanks gents! Also Ben what radiator have you used? I know you’ve replaced it like 2 or 3 times. I’m getting rid of the champion one since so many people have had issues and I’m already taking it out for the TB

Thanks! I’ll read thru that tomorrow

Same, this and the TYC 1985 (likely from the same place) have served me well

Always good to see you man! And fun to work on the RedHead too. Thanks for making those bomb tacos! How's that idle looking after the new IAC?
