This can also create a ton of mold if the water is inside the doors.... find the water and drain it, dont rely on evaporation to turn your new truck into a rainforest.

ok im goin thru this once.....................

how many total miles on taco

? how deep was the deepest puddles .............? be honest!

    hub/axle deep..........door panel deep.................hood/grill deep

heres a rule o thumb that trained true electronic techs live & die by

if it got wet.......turn it OFF

rehab + detail til its COMPLETELY DRY b4 turning on

    testing or attempting to reuse

reason being with DC Voltage ( direct current ) will go places it shouldnt thats wet !!!!!!!!!!!

either way if it IS WET or Corroded DC will ^*&@!)($# UP !!!!!! anything in same zip code

many always make the UNtimely mistake of tryin to gauge the damage by tuning things on

b4 rehab/dryin out to see what works........what DOESNT

that attempt is when components fry

No I getcha, I'm taking it to a mechanic tomorrow just to have them give it a once over and try and drain what I can't. I'm just happy everyone isn't too worried.

Thanks for your time. Total miles: 4000km, deepest puddle probably just over the running boards, maybe a bit up the door. No water made it into the cabin, no water came over the hood. The car ran fine an hour drive home, and was turned off & on again for petrol on the way back. Its off now obviously.

Sloshing could just be your gas tank? I’ve heard mine before. Just throwing that out there for ya.

Reminds me of a call from my Son years ago..."Dad, I got stuck in the Gravel Quary last night. Can you pull me out?" (Of course all of his Buddies who were with him couldn't go help).
He was unusually quiet the whole ride up there, about 45 minutes, and I soon found out why. I turned the corner and there it was, nose first into a deep hole, bed sticking nearly straight up in the air. Truck was submerged clear to the Windshield, Engine fully underwater!!
Short version of the story, pulled the little Datsun 4x4 out with my full size truck, pulled the drain pan until the water stopped and oil flowed. Pulled the plugs and had him blow the water out. Reinstalled plugs and it started up!!
    Ran terrible for a week!!

    if firewall components

    if dash components

did not get wet U are indeed a lucky fella.................dont buy any LOTTO for a while

Uv already burned ALL UR luck

    open both doors

U will see little slits at bottom of each

they are there to drain water / rain from side glass

gooooood intentions altho practical does not work very well

use a fine wire at each location to be certain they are not clogged

not neccessary to be vigorus like U r pickin UR nose

a film has been applied to the inside attemptin to prevent accumulated water from rusting inside out

most o those slits might be clogged

U will see similar lits along the sills

there are also wheel/fender panels that are NOT sealed in the fender wells & behind front bumper

no less at the bottom & rear of cab ( where fords rust out ) check

b4 puttin back together spray with WD40 generously

I've had a rumage around the dash and as much into the engine bay as I can, and it appears dry. I think your right and I've used up a good few weeks of luck! The wire idea is great, you all have given me alot to do on my day off tomorrow!.

i know what im goin to say puts a damper on the youthful idea of havin fun..................

    not what im attempting

    a 3foot length o 1/2 -3/4 inch pvc capped at both ends

becomes a pal & useful tool when at the beach/shore ( if u in jerzeee)

    to gauge drop offs

    sippy holes

    depth o creeks etc

    cheaper than ANY repair

gettin out checking getting feet wet/sloppy

way better than ballz gettin wet for a few thousand $$$

I agree, except there's a product way better than WD-40.
    Gibbs Lubricant.
Google it up and check it out. I swear by it.
