I have put in Racesport gen3 leds I'm the process of doing a custom audio overhaul which will include Hybrid audio unity 6x9 mid bass, unity 3 inch mid driver in the dash and fiberglassing tweets in pilar soundeading all the doors, floors, and headliner and I will be using a helix processor to retain the factory radio and as far as subs I might make custom brackets to move rear seat foward a few inches to get a full size sub in there or I might just go with a pair of jl tw5 or tw3 and it will all be powered by jl audio HD amps or I might try out the new hybrid amps

Nice list, I'd love to hear that system. How/where'd you put the 3" and tweeters? 3" in the dash location and tweeters in the a pillar? What amps?

I am amazed at what replacing just my head unit did for these crappy speakers! Channel. separation alone improved dramatically. The highs aren't flat compared to what it was, and I can get a little thump. Lol

Seriously though, The sound you hear is only as good as the source. Start with a head unit and build from there.

How do you like the JL C1 speakers? How much of the yellow do you see through the door lol.

the JL C1's are okay, definitely sounds better, has more weight to it than stock. I don't pay much attention to the location of the door speakers at all so... but if I go down low to clean the door panel and/or sill, I'll see the yellow. There's no distraction nor does it reflect light while driving, I'm watching the road. lol

I should've gone with Black type of speakers for the stealthy look?

I'm about $2000 in my setup. Oem HU with Nav. Labor done by me.

    Audiocontrol lc7i
Alpine pdx-v9 (I got it for $450 new back in 2014)
Hybrid audio Clarus C61-2 component fronts
    MB Quart PVM116 rears
    JL Audio stealth box
Sound deaden the entire rear cab wall and 4 doors.

I started looking for a kenwood hu with garmin nav, but all the high end units are sold out because of the chip shortage. Really bummed about that. I wonder if that's why the alpine amp has more than doubled in price since 2014.

Has anyone seen/heard the Toyota specific door speakers from Memphis audio? From what I can see they are the same as their universa model, but the mounting points are already in the right place for Toyota vehicles with connectors also. Do you like Memphis door speakers?
    Thanks

    I mean… it’s not Powerbass right?

Probably fills the huge gap in quality between the Powerbass and Focal direct replacement speakers.

I went all out on my build
3 way active with midrange and tweeter mounted on axis on the dash and 6.5 Midwoofer in the factory door location
car Has sound deadening all 4 doors and the floor. Head liner may be next. I was original gonna mount an iPad Pro 12.9 M1 in the dash like a Tesla screen but better. I couldn’t find a solution to keep the factory back up camera which is very important (especially dblcb w/ 6ft bed) so I decided to keep the factory head unit I have car play and everything so it’s actually a nice head unit. Now I’m trying to figure out how to connect the IData link maestro to the Arc audio PS8 pro dsp I have running the sound to the speakers.

Audiofrog GS10 and GS25 dash in custom milled aluminum pods. Arc Audio X2 450.4
Audiofrog GB60 in the doors powered by Arc Audio X2 450.4 bridged
    JL Audio 10TW3-d4 X 2 wired in series to 1ohm which is an Audison SR 1.500 (1000w @ 1ohm)
Custom sub boxes that fit behind the rear cab seats

DSP is the Arc Audio PS8 Pro with PSC controller

All in I’d say 5k in equipment maybe closer to 6k with wiring and other stuff.

I’ve done the whole install myself bc the shops I went to quoted me between 1200 and 2000 and I had some of the components the ones I didn’t have weren’t included in that price.

Shops are great if you have no experience with wiring and small electronics. But if you have the time it’s easy to learn and do it yourself over time.
