Hey everyone sorry for a new post I'm new here and my laptop is out of commission making navigating the forums harder.
I had to jump on this deal for new TRD wheels from a dealer with a coupon for free shipping..
I'm trying to figure out which TPMS would work with these wheels and my 2019 TRD sport double cab. I do have the reset toggle for tpms.
I would like to keep the option functional I'm asking for experience as I briefly looked at some on Amazon and they instantly said not compatible with certain rims. I just don't want to dish out the money for the wrong thing. And my tire shop is quoting me kind of high but seems they want to just order based on my tacos stock year and model. I would much rather supply the shop with what someone can tell me works so I can get in and out on my new shoes

    Thanks in advance

I think the factory steel wheels use a different TPMS than factory aluminum. When it comes to aftermarket wheels I have no idea. My best guess is that monitors for factory aluminum wheels should work with aftermarket aluminum, but that is just a guess.

FWIW I've replaced wheel sensors on 3 different vehicles now that I bought from Amazon @ about $20 each. On two occasions I had them installed when buying new tires and there was no extra charge. The other time I bought a set of takeoff wheels and tires that came with no sensors. It cost me $10/wheel to get those installed. They have all worked perfectly.

I had EZ sensor installed last week on aftermarket wheels. They cloned the OEM TPMS

but I don’t know if it’s universal to all aftermarket wheels.

This is where I got mine. They also make them black so they will not stand out

Could you just bring it to Discount Tires and have them transfer the sensors over from your existing setup?

That's my plan next week. A month ago i tried by my neighborhood tire shop and they said the sensor wouldnt fit right due to the stem angle. I think they just didn't know how to do it.

I bought the TRD 4Runners off Amazon in gunmetal for my wife’s 2020 4Runner and swapped the TPMS from the Snowflakes to the TRD’s. Then I put 275’s on the Snowflakes and swapped over the TPMS from my 2021 Tacoma Steelies to the Snowflakes. Steelies still in the bed.

The only issue I have right now is trying to decide if I’m gonna paint the Snowflakes gray or not.

Yes, no issues. Only needed new lug nuts since they are different. TPMS works fine.
