    The ad for the steel bumper says "Brand new but is slightly smaller than it should be (by roughly 1.5 cm) where the truck bed drops in; this can be easily shaped to fit but I don't have any tools to do so." Any idea what he means by "slightly smaller where the truck bed drops in?" Is he talking about where the bumper is bolted to the frame or something else? If I can understand the issue and think I can fix it, I might do this. I would want to mod it to put the hitch behind the license plate, but otherwise keep it as is.

    Looks tight where the tailgate comes down.. Like it will hit the sides of the bumper when you open the tailgate. My guess is he got a free one sent and he's trying to recover cash. Easy fix if you can weld and have the time plus would need repaint.
    Or bash it with a hammer until it fits.

    Oh right, that makes sense now. I have a welder and plasma cutter, so I'm thinking about it. Would the easiest thing be to cut the sides of the bumper off where the tailgate will hit and re-stitch it to make sure it clears?

    Sounds that way, yes. But really until you had it you wouldn't know for sure... Hit the guy up and ask for pics of where it hits so you can see. Hope it works for you it's a good deal if it's not fubar.
