    A few.
Im referring to auto headlights. Not auto dimming highbeams. The latter is part of the TSS.

Why doesn't the manual trans Taco have a push button start like the auto's do? We manual folks have to have a key. Really?? I can see maybe not having a remote start in case it's in gear, but even then,
just don't allow to start while in gear.

I think auto headlights are a battery killer in the long run. They turn on when I start my wife's car in the garage (cause it always thinks its dark in the garage) and turn off 30 seconds after shut-down.
Can't be good for the batt.

Because if you want everything to be as easy as the push of a button they know you will get an automatic..

‘21 OR with basic tech (bsm) has automatic on for headlights. I will have to double check with wipers.

They are catering to operators not drivers.

Just to add to the confusion, my '20 TRD OR MT with the Tech Package and LED headlights. Mine has auto high beams and headlights. I've actually become a fan of the auto high-beams; I've not seen them doing anything they shouldn't, though I rarely use them as I find the LED Headlights and Driving Lights really do a good job lighting-up the roadway.

As somebody who will be getting a 22 OR, I find this interesting. Obviously not a even close to a dealbreaker not to have auto headlights, but seems kinda funny at this point. My last two vehicles have been Honda Accords and I just put them on the Auto setting and never have to think about turning them on.

Meanwhile, my wife has them in her car too but “doesn’t trust them” to turn on so I always forget to switch them on when I drive her car at night.

My GF too refuses to use them. When I asked her about it once she said the same thing only she's worried about them not turning-off.

To clear up some confusion, anyone who goes to toyota.com and does a tacoma build, when u get to packages you will see the only place u will find the auto headlight option is with the premium packages.
This isnt the auto highbeams that dims the lights when another car is coming and is part of the toyota safety sense system. And its not the daytime running lights that come on during the daylight hours.

I had a 2010 Mazda3 manual that had a push button start, auto headlights, and rain sensing wipers. I was surprised when I learned that those weren't even available on the Tacoma even in the Limited trim level.

There are some drawbacks of having auto headlights. Here in Oregon, half of the year it LOOKS like it is going to rain, and in the span of a mile, my lights will flip on and off like 6 times. It's not so much the headlights, but the dash lights dimming that often drives me nuts.

2021 OR SBDC without the premium package. I have auto on the switch stalk and a separate switch on the dash for auto dim.
The "Safety & Covenience" section on my window sticker list Auto High beam under the TSS stuff.
Wife's 2016 Rav4 limited has auto high beam but does not have a separate switch to turn auto high beam off. On switch stalk if it is in "auto" then the auto high beams are on. I'm not a fan of the auto high beam and glad they added an on off switch.

I’ve got a ‘20 SR5, it’s got auto-dimming high beams but not automatic headlights. I can however, leave it in DRL mode.

The worst part is there is only a message on the dash if you leave the headlights on, no buzzer. On rainy days I always leave the headlights on.

That's weird because my '21 SR definitely has them. Maybe they start including them on all trims?

They'll turn off after you lock the doors. Think its a 30 second delay.
