While we're all talking about the DMV, anyone have a recommendation on where to go to get a title re-issued? A friend has had their vehicle paid off for a while but never went to get the title re-issued with just their name on it (and the bank removed). They are going to sell the vehicle soon, which is why they are going to do that now.

Should they even bother doing that before sale?
Is there a "14 business day" wait for this?

Follow these steps. I just did this for the taco since I misplaced mine during my moves.

Form needed to fill out and mail it to the main DMV in Denver with a check of $8.20 and self addressed stamped envelope

    https://dmv.colorado.gov/sites/dmv/files/DR2539A.pdf

Took about a month for them to mail the title

Well that's not going to work. This car is going to be sold in the next week.

Thanks for the detailed info though!

YMMV but the last few times I've purchased a vehicle the Arapahoe county DMV takes the old title, shreds it, and reprints a new title in my name on the spot. They do not mail them. I imagine it would probably be the same for your case

I don't think I'm going to get it... Full-size is too big. If Maverick is capable off road, I may get that. Or just get a trailer for the RAV4 and buy another dual sport.

@chenbro Haha I was saying how to get the emissions test without any hassles. I won’t be there - I live in Aurora now. Basically live behind Safeway @ Tower & Hampden, but Wednesday is my day off tomorrow & next week. I'll pm you as well

Here's the rim - Its pretty grimy, took it off @ 60k. So it spent 6 years under the truck. Love to get $50 bucks or def $40 & some beers. Just had a kid & so its for the diaper fund & my sanity...

    @Deathbysnusnu

I need to buy a new deadbolt for my back door (no homo) and another new deadbolt. I want to keep my current key as it opens my front door dead bolt too.

When looking at dead bolts it says this:

"Select "Keyed Alike" to use the same key on multiple locks, "Keyed Different" for unique keys, or enter a key code (Typically a 5 digit number) to match this lock to pre-owned locks. Locksmiths can identify key codes on pre-owned locks."

Where do I find this code in order to keep my current key and have it work with the two new dead bolts?

    Thanks.

Oh I got it now lol. I think you have me confused with someone else though because I’m not looking for a spare wheel. In fact I have 6 wheels sitting in my garage waiting for new tires right now :anonymous:

I'm a bit shitfaced, but if you are working with Kwikset, and purchasing from Home Depot, just bring your key with you and the guy that works that aisle should be able to key it to your existing key.

Otherwise, send me a pic of your current key, and I can set you up.

Fuck Home Depot. Never spending another dime with them unless it's for them to eat my ass.

My adult self says wait until morning to send you a pic... the idiot in me says, "let's see what happens when he's shitfaced."

You should be able to just get some of the smartkey re-keyable locks and key them the your existing key.
