You'll want a couple dabs of gasket maker for the seam where the valve cover gaskets lay. I think it's pointed out in some manual somewhere...

Optional - replace rubber washers on bolts along middle of valve cover.

I replaced other rusty bolts and these were cheap.

I also replaced all the water bypass hoses and clamps. I think there are 4 or 5. One is buried in right next to driver side valve cover. Easy when everything is off. Have part numbers if you need them.

Jon seems like nice guy but they are pretty busy. Expect about a month to get it back.

Talked to him directly today, sounds like They’ve done a few of these but didn’t sound like very often. I asked to get the case ported like Stiegermeister does but they wouldn’t do it as they said it’s not worth it due to intake runner restriction. (probably true) but I figured even small
Improvement that is hidden is good in Cali, and I dropped a hefty shipping fee getting it there
    • They have a reservations policy for $250 to reserve spot
    • I called multiple times to try and book a spot and only got message machine
    • Tried email too and multi day delay
    • Called them back after missed call - busy signal ?!?
    • Called again left message
    • Eventually got message I was 4-5 in line (about 1.5 weeks ago)
    • Shipped s/c there and it’s been there at least a month
    • Jon’s working on my estimate for machining about and port matching intake so hopefully they can do that this week but nothing confirmed yet.
I don’t have alternative recommendations but the delay and trouble getting in touch was pretty annoying even if understandable.

I've confirmed those o-rings for the valve cover bolts are correct:

I've re-used the valve cover gaskets multiple times. Is that not recommended? (even if it isn't, I'll probably still do it)

I would get the o-ring for the s/c lid. I tried reusing mine and had to take it back apart and replace to get a good seal

    The APS 997 is a legend !

I used to do car alarms back in college and did quite a bit of these- actually preferred it as an alternative to some of the DEI remote starts. Didn't know they were integrating bypass modules now, thats pretty slick!

Probably fine but since they are <$1 and I was already ordering seals etc I just replaced them. It depends how dry they are really. Sometimes old rubber stuff deforms and loses rebound to fill in gaps but these are pretty small so should be ok.

Hola friends! I was wondering if having the HP Tuner will allow me to delete the URD MAF Calibration unit thingy for the URD CAI and not have a check engine light? I want it for all the other good reasons, but this was a specific question that came to mind. Thanks in advance!
