It was excellent. The winner - the dude has zero body fat and can just burn. Amazing. Nasty endo and other excitement. Awesome. I watched on YouTube TV.

Pulled a couple spokes out of these Mavic XA Pro Carbon 29ers.
A little disappointed to say the least, the hoops have been slightly noisy but very responsive.
Hoping that I get a reply from my email to Mavic to see what they could do.

Wait till the womens tomorrow. If Loanna rides this like the rest of the UCI WC races this year it will be her own ride minutes ahead of the pack.

    not enough.
yeah, and they were all doing that drop on XC RACE BIKES. While we're all in this thread like, "I wouldn't hit that without a trail or enduro bike minimum!"

The current group of young guys (relative) at the international level is insane. I've been playing fantasy XC on pinkbike and it's been making me realize how wild they all are

edit: to add that Tom Pidcock fell and broke his collarbone, had surgery, then was back on the bike like the same week...that was maybe a month ago

Didn’t they say he broke it because he was hit by a car while training?

I was wondering if aluminum and if corrosion..........brass should be choice with carbon, IMHO. I don't know about steel actually. Stainless?

I don't know, they are painted.
Started a warranty claim with Mavic and Backcountry (purchased there), let's see what happens.

I'm no bike expert - only been reading - and my previous life I know alloys (not so much interaction with carbon fiber composites)
Anyway, yes raw aluminum is bad, but hard anodized should work. Many carbon wheels have lube coated hard anodized nipples and seem to work fine.
Stainless steel no good because galling and work hardening
Tool and other steels, carbon steels, corrosion
    Titanium, galling
    Other exotic alloys, maybe
Brass seems to be tried and true but of course is not light

Well, the bike I posted previously is going to get sold. Snagged a 2019 Sentinel today so I’m a happy camper. One of my favorite bikes.
