Yeah I’m still learning how to read. The cost of upgrading the MPVI2 isn’t even a half of a percent of the money that has been pissed away with this truck. Im not proud of it, just saying that it’s just another drop in the bucket.

I don't see what the difference is between the MPVI2 and the MPVI2+ other than speed changes and an addition of an 8 pin cable option.

As far as what we have spent on the truck goes, I don't consider what I've spent as a waste of money, I see it as "cost of ownership expenses" and doing what we have done to them has enhanced the truck ownership experience. Well worth it in my opinion.

No doubt its just a drop in the bucket. But when the regular mpvi2 was $250 an additional upgrade price of $190 is a bit drastic when you can buy the damn thing outright for $300
So far thats it afaik. I don't even keep track of anything on the truck anymore. But i monitor afr constantly with the gto and been retuning it anyways again

The only thing I monitor on the truck is the boost and gas.

Now if I can find the source of the infernal squeaking when I go over random bumps at random speeds, it's driving me nuts! :annoyed:

Im with you. Boost is just a number and AFR can tell you much more going on although not definitive.

Only reason i have a boost gauge is for giggles

Excuse me. It was early when I wrote that.

That's what I meant. The only thing I track on the truck is AFR and fuel level. Only occasionally is it that I track boost.

When I tow or when it is really hot, I track cooling system temperature as well.

What about an old gopro mounted under frame for investigation while you drive? If not body bushings or sway bars, Steering rack or front diff support arms maybe?

I'm wondering if the noise is originating from my loose secondary cat heat shields.

I was thinking that as well but I have lost a GoPro before and am worried about losing the one I have right now.

I have it narrowed between body bushings, the loose cat heat shields, or uniball/ Delta joint noises. Sway bars are out because I don't have them anymore.

Motor mounts? Do you have the Bonzen or stock ones.

    I run the Bonzen ones.

It's this small oddest metal on metal squeak that goes off on no particular bump, it can be big or small but it always sounds like it is behind the glove box area. I sometimes hear it coming from the driver's side as well. Which is what further makes me wonder if it is indeed the heat shields. If I lower the windows the sound somewhat intensifies. It's been driving me nuts for like a year, but because I shouldn't be wrenching on the truck, it's hard to do anything to it.

You might try pulling the passenger fender liner and make sure the radio antenna base is tight where it mounts to the truck (the lower one). It is a metal on metal mounting point IIRC. Just thinking about that since you said it sounded like behind the glove box

That's a great idea actually. It makes it even easier for me since I don't have fender liners anymore either and have flared fenders.

It may have been soon to tell but after removing the passenger side heat shield, the initial drive gave me favorable results. Given how often the issue was emanating at random, it was notable within a drive, so I'm confident the issue is now gone. I'm just going to leave it off and throw it away.

Now to quiet down the suspension, but that's a different story of its own.

I wouldn't throw it away just yet. That bad boy blocks some serious heat coming up through the floor. You can replace with adhesive heat reflective material. These heat shields are somewhat of a pain in the butt though. They are sharp as hell also. They also corrode pretty quickly. Perhaps bolt back up with some RTV on the top side of it to prevent metal on metal rubbing? The hardware does loosen over time on these and they do make a racket though.

That only blocks heat if the cats are in play though I would assume?

fair, probably much less heat without them. I am shamefully still sitting on my Roost Y. It will be done, just not this week. Your heat shield is in great shape though. I too hate random squeaking.

I know. Which makes me mad that I had to pull it off. I like to preserve those sort of things but in this case I already tried putting fender washers on it and the stupid thing kept dancing around and I get sick of messing around in there so I just pulled it off as a whole and said screw it.
