    I'm getting some 17 x 8.5 wheels soon. Already have ko2 265/70r17 tires.

if the wheels have a -12mm offset, would that cause the tires to rub on a stock suspension?

I think you would have serious rub on the outside edge of the tire. since you didn't say what you have for wheels now I will use a stock OR for an example:

Stock OR wheels are 16x7" with a +25mm offset

now if I go to a 16x8" wheel with the same tire as before with lets say -10mm offset, between the extra inch of wheel width and the 35mm inward shift in mounting surface, There would be roughly 0.9" of additional space between the inside of the tire/wheel and suspension components like the UCA. so definitely not an issue. but now there would be close to 1-7/8" of additional wheel and tire sticking out, which IME with other vehicles would definitely rub on things such as the wheel well liner, lower parts of the bumper, pinch weld, or cab mounts.

slow down and research things before deciding on what to purchase so you won't have to bump a thread <90 minutes after you posted it.

Rubbed like no other on stock suspension. Even rubbed a little on certain turns and in reverse with 5100/885 coils.

I rubbed with -10mm on a set of duratrac 265/70/17. Did some trimming and heat gunning and it helped. I then got a small lift and I don't rub anymore.
