    Hello everyone,

prob a dumb question but can I fit 5” bilstein 5100’s on a 4” lift kit from Rough Country? I got a 2006 Tacoma and I’m not going to be taking it on no serious overlanding or off-roading but I do want a quality ride and maybe a bit of off-roading capability. And I want some lift in the taco. So do you guys think that’ll fit? And what do you guys recommend for a 3-5” lift kit for Tacoma’s?

    bilstein 5100 SKU: E122-B110
    Rough Country lift SKU:746.20

So you are aware that both the 4" and 6" kits require cutting a slab out of your frame, right? And you're up for that? (pun intended)

How will you raise the back end? Jumbo blocks or beefy springs?

it is unlikely to have a quality ride and 4" spacer lift on the same truck.

what do you like and dislike about your current set up? why do you want to add more lift than 3"?

in general if you go more than 2.5" it is recommended to get UCAs that can provide proper alignment.

save up $1,500 more dollars, get a better set up with longer coils, UCAs, and leaf pack. you will be disappointed if you dont.

No I wasn’t, thanks for that info. Reason why I ask on here before I do something I’ll regret

Now what 3” lift kit do you recommend?

Probably the biggest problem with the OP's post is 99% of the replies will be people re-writing what they've read instead of writing what they experienced.

4" lift front knuckles will lift it 4", won't require any cutting of the frame, and with the same size tire as before (in comparing apples to apples) it'll ride exactly the same as before.

8"+ lift, 37's, and rides like a caddy from the 1960's which is great in my opinion but probably not so great in other people's opinions.

Sku provided by OP is for a drop bracket lift.

    Provided instructions read

Starting from the edge of the cam bolt plate on the back side of the rear cross member make a mark at 3" and another mark at 12”.

This is where the rear cross member needs to be cut

Take a reciprocating saw and cut straight through the marks at 3” and 12”

Sounds like your taking a 9" chunk out of the frame to me.

    1. I was giving the OP an option that hadn't yet been presented to get a 4" lift without any cutting.
    2. It's *you're*.

I was unaware that lift spindles/knuckles were available for 4wd version like the OP has.

I thought those were only for 2wd.

Any chance you have a link to a site with the parts you reference?

Yep giving an option that doesn’t exist. Worthless.
