The right one spins relatively easily, but the left one, with the seal clearly askew, has a lot of rotational drag. Local Les Schwab said they can fix the seal but they can’t check the bearing without replacing it.

I’m going to pull that seal, anyone know how I can check if the bearing/spacer are installed correctly?

The ac is colder for whatever reason, I just so happened to put a high flow muffler on it this evening

    I wish I understood why

The drone is annoying but for ice cold ac all the time I'll take it, before it was sorta cold sometimes but since the muffler it's been ice every startup for the past 5 drives

I would post it up in the other thread, the What Did You Do Today one, more guys in there that have done their bearings and might be able to tell by looking at it

You'd hope that since a Toyota dealer did the work, it'd be done right but when it comes to our older trucks I'd be more inclined to have more faith in a reputable independent mechanic than a Toyota dealer one

    No offense @Empty_Lord :p

Photo isn’t the best. But it almost looks like the spacer is backwards. Does it move freely?

The bearing itself or that spacer on the back side. The spacer itself should rotate seperate if installed correctly. I really wish I could shoe a picture of mine but they’re assembled on the frame right now

The bearing is pressed on, then behind it is the abs tone ring (or a second space) then the rear spacer/retainer. The rear most retainer should rotate freely.

[IMG] Should look like this. Sits slightly above the hub itself.
