What does truck being modified with high clearance bumper have to do with the peeling scoop?

I’m not surprised they didn’t do anything though...

They saw the scratches down the side and the guy wanted to order the part for me but he said Toyota would deny it and just say I scratched it since the rest of the truck is scratched

I actually just got more today straight through the primer, were some pretty tight trails. No pics though but I have these in my phone that somewhat show them

I know it's your truck and it's your right to do as you please. But damn it looks like your trashing it.

That’s a bum reason to deny warranty coverage. The dealership has to actually be able to show that the modification caused the issue, or that it was caused by misuse.

You don’t seem too broken up about it, but it’s still BS.

Hood scoop matches the entire truck. Why repaint it? Lol

Haha because one is being used off road, and the other makes the truck look cheap

One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Looks like a well used truck. No issues here.

You want to talk about trashing a truck, there are a lot worse things than some scratches.

There's body armor out there so you can enjoy your truck on the trails without it having to look like this. I know it's too late now to look into it, but food for thought for your next truck or anyone else looking to do the same.

I wouldn't say trashing it. Dudes just out there using it. I have some scratches down the side of mine from a trail, the Tacoma was just too wide to go through scratch free. I still take care of it. Just washed, clay bar'd and waxed it earlier this month. I love seeing Tacoma with scratches on them. Battle scars from the trails! Too many mall crawlers out there/mini van replacements tacos.

No body armor will protect from brush and tree branches scratching paint on a narrow trail.

Good on you OP, use your f*cking truck for what it was built for! Let the pansies wash, wax, and worry over every single little scratch - like it's some kind of heirloom decoration...

Haha I take care of her mechanically. One day im just gonna bed line the whole truck so she can look good and can handle the branches. The wife doesn't like rolling up to Sunday church with a truck full of scratches and yeah I don't blame her. Oh well

    Yeah.
Well, those LED lights can get pretty hot, so that might have helped a little. Likely it got a rock chip and spread from there. Taking it off and rattle-canning it should be pretty easy to do, though.
