@Empty_Lord it’s slightly below the hub, on both. Neither spacers turn freely, I was rotating it by grabbing the lugs. I have a second spacer, no tone ring.

 

Sounds like they were pressed on wrong then

to me it sounds like the dealer owes you a set of bearings. Once they press it apart again there’s a good chance the bearing will be toast

These things are trivial to press together. How a dealer could fuck that up I’ll never know. But they owe it to you to make it right.

Called to check status this morning and the advisor, again, says they are the wrong parts. I said which parts EXACTLY are “wrong”? Said I’d best come in as it’s hard to explain on the phone. After taking me to two different techs and insisting the “wrong parts” was the problem, they show me how they broke an ear of the bearing retainer snap ring. (I provided new snap rings)
So I take the knuckle home, spend 15 minutes removing the broken snap ring, and then bring back to them. Both techs and the advisor seem genuinely confused.
There were two other first gens on hoists in the back, and I feel bad for them. On the way out I mumbled something about letting me know if they need me to remove the other snap ring.

so… I don’t want them touching my shit anymore.

Fair enough. Have another shop examine it. And have them be the ones that determine if the work done is bad. Then bring the bill to the dealer. They fucked up. They make right. If they don’t. Then bash them on reviews. With photo evidence.


I can’t stand dealers doing this shit. It makes my job harder
