    What are people using/doing to make the bed water tight with the cap?

    So this seems like the way to go to fit in a shorter garage- wonder why most load bars always have towers anyway? Can you link to materials and describe any downsides to this over RSI or FrontRunner load bars (other than the bazillion attachments they sell for a bazillion dollars?) I just want to strap some paddle boards or my canoe up there- maybe eventually an awning...?

    Anyone have a link to T-bolts that will fit into the tracks on the RSi load bars? I need to get some longer ones than what came with my loadbars.

    Here ya go

    I mounted the tent with 3” risers off the 80/20 crossbars on the smartcap so it can clear the rod holder. The Riversmith rod holder is mounted to both of the truck cab crossbars up front.

    For both the tent and rod holder I have supporting rubber pads points to independently allow them a 3rd support position to rest on, neither is hard mounted to both the cap and cab to allow for proper flex between.

    Looks great! curious where you found the t plates with the corners trimmed (or did you trim em?) And do you have them mounted in just one channel of the crossbar?

    I used these joining plates. 2 M8’s hit the smart cap nuts on the track, and off center the joining plate hits 2 T-nuts on the 80/20… so on the 80/20 it hits the center hole and either the left or right hole on 2”.

    @OffroadAlliance.com

    I received my SmartCap today. A bit confused the information on the boxes states the following:

    EVO303-MB
    SmartCap EVO
    2019-2020
    Ford Ranger Crew Cab 5' ????

    Is this the right cap for my 2018 Tacoma double cab?

    The outside of my box definitely said Tacoma on it... I would have to assume that isn't the right one man, super sucks. Should be # EV1303-MB for 6ft or EV1302-MB for 5ft.

    Hopefully @OffroadAlliance.com puts your proper replacement #1 in-line out the door... seems like they have a good reputation from what I've read thus far.

    Finally finished the rig today. Got the Thule awning mounted and everything nice and centered. Awning mounts to t-slot channels on top of rod holder using this 23zero bracket.

    Tent is mounted to smartcap, rod holder is mounted to the rhino rack crossbars up front… but both also rest on rubber pad points on the opposite side to allow for flexing when needed.

    I’m pretty damn happy with this setup. Thankfully no squeaking or rattling when on-road.
