I had tried both already… I backed nut off almost all the way and fucked with it and got the excess grease out, finally. Never had one lockup like that. Usually back off and releases.

Just started as a “hey babe before we leave I need to hit these really quick” she went with out me. Now I’m relaxing drinking a beer with no wife or kids, thank you bushing lol

Did you pull off the nut and the washer to see what’s happening?

You could probably remove the bushing to inspect it and not remove the uca - just get some bolts to slide into the sleeves on either end to hold things together with something supporting the lower control arm. You could press the bushing back in by using some spacers on the opposite end of the long bolt so you just use the outer washer and nut to force it back into place after.

I pulled nut off and was able to fuck with it till it finally let loose. Never had it so difficult.

There might be two more trucks you'll recognize in the upcoming vids. They were in the background a few times in both vids so far.

edit: missed opportunity not having the insane diesel land cruiser they did awhile back. Can only imagine how many other badass trucks have gone through those doors unnamed and unannounced.

it's Harry's fault. those trucks have so much silicone spray on them, it put a damper on the plastic surgery industry in SoCal. lol

I wish there were more pictures on there. I'm staring at the one as well as watching a video on how swingset steering works to piece together how it all mounts up. Very interesting. Seems to be more prevalent on trucks with beams.

The Hydro assist would be a thing of beauty in the rocks. As it is, swing sets typically reduce steering effort. Add in a good pump and assist, and you have a pretty good setup.

We could also just be a badass bitch like @CGoss and go full hydro.

Full Hydro is absolutely no fun on the street. Driven a couple of rigs with full hydro and would never want to daily it. Its definitely tough, just not what I would consider streetable.

Yeah, I've wondered about that. I like to party but I'm only on 35s, maybe jump to 37s, and really don't do anything too insane. I'm still thinking tundra rack with howe pump and call it a day.

re: swingset steering, it looks like it could be a great option for hydro assist. Just looks like a whole lot of work to get it all set up properly. And you'd be also going into some relatively uncharted territory since there's only going to be a handful of people at most with that setup.

While it is unchartered territory, It has been used for a long time on everything from buggies to trophy trucks and normal pre runners. So while it is a new thing for the tacomas, if the geometry is setup properly, its probably pretty wild. I would take a box over a rack any day of the week personally.

Don't get me wrong, if I could snap my fingers and have one of the two setups installed on my truck, I would choose the swingset with hydro. But since it's me that's installing it, I need to be realistic about my needs and what fits them. That's why I'm leaning the way I am since the tundra rack can go in in a day vs who knows how long to get the swingset properly setup.
