I'll be replacing both seats and mounts in my '06 Access Cab in the near future. The airbag system appears to have sensors all over the place, including a weight sensor in the passenger seat and position sensors on the seat sliders.

Can the sensors be disconnected while still maintaining some level of functionality in the airbags? Maintaining street-legality is a goal during my build-up and it looks like this might be a hurdle.

Any help is definitely appreciated. Ideas and theories are just as useful to me as hard facts at the moment, so let me know what you think. If my rig needs to be the guinea pig, so be it. :)

It'll happen in the coming months, and when it does I'll be sure to post before/in-process/after pics and any information I learn through the process.

    Thanks!
