White Collar or Blue Collar?

Just wondering... thought it might be funny too.

I am blue collar but looking to be white soon, the company I work for is messed up and could use my help.

 

Used to be white collar. Realized it wasn't me. Got a job in a chemical plant. Best job I've ever had. No office politics, good people who have your back, good pay. Only problem is its a 24/7 deal and I'm working today.

 

I added "somewhere in the middle"...

I work in an office and in the field. I am not a manager, but I do have a desk. I do hands on work and computer work. Basically, I do whatever it takes to get jobs done.

 

Blue blue blue......... As blue as it comes - factory work on machinery/production.

I don't mind it if I didn't have to rotate shifts or work weekends.

 

Electrician. White collar is boring, I tried it.

 

I guess I would fall in the white collar section. I'm an IT guy. Some manual labor. But mostly technical complicated problems, that require some thought.

 

What does the military count as? Cammie collar?

 

Blue, Retired from the Air Force in aircraft maintenance. Figured it was the only thing I know, so still working on airplanes

 

blue collar to the bone.....mechanic!!! i like getting my hands dirty!!

 

I went with somewhere in the middle. Environmental consulting.....I spend about 80% of my time in the field right now.....definately don't enjoy a lot of the other 20%.

 

Same here... I wear dress pants, shirt and tie, but find myself crawling through basements, closets and ceiling tiles doing whatever it takes to fix shit.

Well, at least I used to get that dirty... New job (with the more "formal" attire) keeps me a bit cleaner, but only because they have contractors and electricians to string cable. I still have to swap equipment in the closets, connect the wiring the electricians run, and drag printers/monitors/PCs anywhere over 5 floors of a hospital and 22 other buildings.

I have a cubicle, but with 22 other buildings to support I can't do everything remotely.

 

Blue . . . I am a union glazier. I would rather be hangin on the outside of high rises than in one.

Somewhere in the middle...

I'm a software developer, so my days are spent in a cube. But my nights are spent working on my truck - does that count as blue collar? I want to be a man of the people...

 

Steamfitter. We give you heat in the winter and cool in the summer.

 

Blue collar....Literally.

 

I work for a federal contractor (insurance) so white collar. Although, I have a very blue collar attitude, i.e. I basically don't like my job and would rather be out doing something more physical. I typically can't wait for the weekend so I can be outside doing something else and it's also why I play softball almost year round.
