Not sure what kind of guts JD is running in the 934’s but if you check out Kartek there is a ton of ability to upgrade everything to do with them.

Do the 934 inners not need a dust shield like the OEM CVs?

The 934 inner joint mounting flange is actually welded to the factory tulip stub. So you can reuse the dust shield.

Good deal. Does that dust shield help very much? They always have play right there at the diff so it’s not a very flush fit. Might still be worth transferring over I guess. I just know I’m going to have to baby it to salvage it.

So, I'm going to sound like an absolute crackhead here. But has anybody looked at the price of a new frame from Toyota? My local dealer just quoted me 2680$ out the door for a complete frame. This is a mighty tempting thought to start this entire build on a fresh frame. Box it, build it all and roll it under the cab.

Right why compromise at that point and start with a flimsy NVH in mind soccer mom toting frame.

You’re talking a pretty significant cost difference though lol. Imagine how much you could do to reinforce a completely bare frame. For a guy like me that isn’t running 80mph through whoops or jumping the thing it’s a pretty legit option.

It’s kind of a cool idea however I’d put the time, effort and money into a cage first and kill two birds with one stone... make it safe and strong

I'm just not at the point where a cage is justifiable. I am sure the day will come when its no longer a daily or hunting rig. I've actually done quite a few cages, so I do have the ability, and tools. Just not a commitment I am ready to make quite yet.

This is a partially completed chassis I built about 10 years ago at 20. Ended up getting certified for 6.50’s in the quarter and it was sold. I’m sure the day will likely come where this truck is very little factory frame with the way this build has been going.

I've got a bare frame at the shop you can have for the low, low price of coming to haul it away. DCLB, bobbed and rear portion boxed.

Honestly, if I were to go this route I would just start with something that hasn't been touched before.

I'd start with buying autocad and then a pile of steel tube.

Thats you. I have Bend Tech for doing tube work. As I stated before, the truck is eventually headed there. Just not now.
