Yep that's what popped up for me too. Portal hubs sound cool, but not $14k cool. Now if they mean 14k Ukrainian hryvnia then I might consider it since that's like $520 usd.

@81Trekker what kind of long term maintenance are we looking at for the 934s? Boots won’t be hard of course, but how difficult would it be to replace/source the joints when they wear out?

For me it's just not something I could afford to do right now or in the near future.

Not sure what kind of guts JD is running in the 934’s but if you check out Kartek there is a ton of ability to upgrade everything to do with them.

Do the 934 inners not need a dust shield like the OEM CVs?

The 934 inner joint mounting flange is actually welded to the factory tulip stub. So you can reuse the dust shield.

Good deal. Does that dust shield help very much? They always have play right there at the diff so it’s not a very flush fit. Might still be worth transferring over I guess. I just know I’m going to have to baby it to salvage it.

So, I'm going to sound like an absolute crackhead here. But has anybody looked at the price of a new frame from Toyota? My local dealer just quoted me 2680$ out the door for a complete frame. This is a mighty tempting thought to start this entire build on a fresh frame. Box it, build it all and roll it under the cab.
