    Tiny Tool Tuesday!

Programming this tight tolerance window with some 3D surfacing.. Callout is plus nothing, minus .0008" (8 Tenths).. and using a 1/32 (.0312") endmill and ballmill to finish it all..

What are they for? Look similar to some of the medical devices I sell that spin in the tens of thousands of RPMs.

Those are my tools, an Endmill and a Ballmill. The part I'm making has a feature that is + nothing, - .0008" with .020" inside Rads. I need these little guys to make said features. These are just them loaded into the tool holders. Very much on the small end of the Tooling Spectrum. lol

We do make Medical components though.. for GE Medical and others. Semiconductor work, Automotive, Aerospace. This part in particular is for GE Medical. part of their tooling assembly to make their medical parts/components. They're mostly for Ultrasound and Xray Tech/Assemblies.

I'm super OCD.. so lately I've been getting all these little parts with tight tolerances and tedious setups and workholding. Lots of problem solving and engineering sometimes.. but the pay off is worth it. Parts come out baller all the time. I Like to make them perfect. Finishes and all... I think it's time for a raise. Lol

Here's the finished window part that those small tools made. Surfaced the angles/drafts.. then finished the inside .020" Rads in the corners.

    PXL_20210728_143817909.PORTRAIT.jpg

Finishes at .12400" too.. (my micrometers read to the millionth)

    PXL_20210728_184002416.PORTRAIT.jpg

Now working on some thin, tight tolerance Brass Semiconductor parts. .062" thick.

Excellent. You'll be about ~2 months ahead of my Alucab Canopy Camper for my 2021 DCLB

Yep, the one that sits on your bedrails, just like the SP X1. Not a fan of removing my bed for a tray at this moment.

Anyone have any opinions on Fumoto oil drain valves? Good or bad?
