noticed no real loss in power, will update on the mpgs. Truck is butter over bumps on c load versus E, as well as much more stable feeling with the wider wheels. Overall happy so far, but the wallet is not haha

@Kwikvette when you go to school for welding they'll give you TIG lessons for aluminum, great skill to know but it's hard as fuck to get the knack down.

If you're doing non structural aluminum welding or welding where you have the time to clean up the aftermath, a spoolgun on a regular MIG machine will make aluminum welding feel like a total cakewalk.

This is only the second time I've ever used a spoolgun and I'm proud of it. @Speedytech7 @Blue92 @moreproficientwelders go ahead and make fun of me for that nasty ass booger at the the top of my gusset

I'd expect the front to be a nightmare, since you'd have to cut it all out.

    @Abeyancer

Looks structurally sound to me. Better than the welds on my last exhaust :puke::puke:

    Whatchu talkin about Willis

    That looks clean as hell!

I can't recall, but I know it posted before...we'll be doing different types of steel (forgot what kind), as well as aluminum.

MIG and TIG will be covered too.

This stands out as one of those "in time, with experience" sort of things.

The school touches on the basic principles of, and towards the later part of the year, allow you to pursue different types of welding whether you want to learn structural, metal fabrication, piping, and more.

I guess that's where I'll be mostly undecided as I don't know exactly what types of welding fall into said jobs.

Best advice I got was, look into what you want to do or where you want to work, and ask what type of welding certifications that employer wants you to have. They'll touch on the type of welding you need to be proficient in.

Though I'll take any advice you guys have to offer as well.

That's pretty damn clean for a spool gun, you using high freq or variable rate?

This was the cleanest I could achieve with the push-pull setup at my old job welding 3/4" 6061 alum

Thanks! I can't take that much credit.. that spoolgun really makes it feel like cheating compared to how hard TIG is

Nice! Sounds like you'll be coving more than my single term community College welding class lol. The teacher tried cramming MIG TIG and stick all into the same semester so none got good at anything

shop owner had the balls to say I was breaking them with the things I do with the slug. Forest service roads and mild trails were DEFINITELY the problem, not the snot smears

I've seen schools offer a short welding course, and usually touches on one type of welding...or all of it altogether.

The school is 10 months long (so 1 full school year), and for some months you do one type, for other months a different type, and so forth.

It's 4 days a week as well so it's rather long.
