I already had a faux pro grill and skid plate. And just for reference I'm running TRD 4Runner wheels with 265/70/17 Duratracs

I love the look but can tell a difference in power and mpg. But I think it’s worth it!!

I just had the Dealer install the "TRD Performance Suspension Upgrade Kit". They needed two days to do the install, I'm in Canada and with all fees and taxes dropped shy of 3K$. But for me they fold the suspension into my extended warranty; as well, it included the grill/sensor swap and of course an alignment.

Now I have all of the stock parts and suspension, so my wife will know what I did. lol.

I can say that the 2" in the front makes a noticeable difference for visibility, as and the tuning of the suspension feels tighter, the brake dive in the front end is gone too!

So, I know I overpaid to some extent, but alas... it is done.

DAMN 2 days. WTF are they doing? This shouldnt take too long. With hand tools and jack and jack stands I put the front lift on in about 2hrs and doing the rear 1" blocks took me about an hour. then you have about 15min to install the front grill. So WTF are they doing for 2 days. Alignment takes what an extra 45min

My assumption is… tell client to arrive at 8am as we will need truck all day.

don’t start working on Tacoma til around 12pm (thanks Toyota app and dash cam mini). Wrap up “day 1” at 3pm.

call customer and tell him you need overnight…. Sigh.

So. technically they only had for a day and half.

Just a quick review: So after few weeks driving with the TRD 2" lift I really like it. For the back I used add 3-leaf springs instead of the Toyota 1" block and I removed the stock overload leaves but plan to put them back to the spring packs to carry heavier load. It's bit firmer on the road and pretty comfy off-road. I'm running 285/75-R16 BFG KO2 AT with stock UCA. The TRD lift with rear add 3-leaf spring cost around $550 and I did the installation myself, here's a video of us doing off-road testing out the TRD lift.

The Taco is not too bad compared to my FJ40:

Nice! What wheel spacers are you using to clear the UCA and not rub the Cab Mount? Thanks!

Since I use the stock wheels, I'm using Spidertrak 1.25" spacers, also the front mud flaps were removed

Because the new rear shocks have longer travel to accommodate the 1” lift. Rear 5100’s provide zero lift like you said.

Whether you use blocks or AAl’s, you should not keep stock shocks back there.

Yeah thats way too much for 5100’s and a block + grille ,and TSS .

Went with OEM grille w/camera mount for under $150 when sold as part of the lift kit. I used generic garnish, and 5100’s front and rear with a 1” block also. Took me an afternoon with an extra pair of hands.

No ‘warranty void’ issues lol, dealer confirmed. Also had zero TSS issues, its been @ 300 miles .

Warranty coverage is same as if the dealer or tire shop cross threads a lug nut, that wont be a Toyota warranty issue. The shop that did the work covers that independently.

If something I installed (such as a Bilstein) blows out, then obviously my time and Bilstein is on the hook, not Toyota.

That happening is statistically unlikely. They have a lifetime warr when paired with oem springs, and they have been tried and true over the years so Im not worried , plus I dont do any off roading. Much better than a spacer lift and half the cost as the TRD kit using almost identical equipment, aside from the knockoff garnish.

Well, I have, and so have many, many members who have previously gotten the 2/1 lift. So I hope you have some data to back this up.

So in your experience I would not have to change the rear shocks and all I would need to buy would be front shocks and rear block to achieve the 2/1 that I want. I don’t do any wheeling in my truck just mild hunting trails.

If I didn't have O.R. rear shocks, I would have changed them, but with the 1" block lift, it isn't even noticeable. I didn't want to go any more the 1" and compress the heck out of my off road shocks.

I have no regrets going 2" in the front, with my 265/75/16 Durartracs.
