Hey TW... I've been searching for an answer on this, as well as some pics to show its actually been done.

Does the CBI rear skid plate (Overland) fit with the TRD Pro front skid plate?

I called CBI, and the guy that answered seemed optimistic about it, but couldn't confirm it would fit. He "thought you might need to cut something" but that's the best he could offer. I tried to PM CBI and no response, I suspect they are super busy pumping out Taco parts lately.

There's also a post buried somewhere on TW where CBI said it does fit because they designed it before the front skid, to be compatible with the TRD Pro skid. (Sorry couldn't find it again to link to.)

All that being said, I haven't actually seen anyone that has done it, that can confirm it fits, and can show a pic of the fit.

Any help is appreciated, pics and install experience even more so.

This one? If so, yes it fits right up to the OEM Pro front skid. I don’t have a pic of it on my truck, but maybe @Bertw192 can snap a pic for you.

it’s on there now, this pic was when I bought it (used). It bolts up to my Pro skid without any fitment/cutting needed.

Is that the trans skid or the front engine skid?

Trans skid. CBI calls it the rear skid, I believe.

Thanks for the pics. Now if I can avoid the $250 shipping charges.

Just out of curiosity does it cover the Catalytic converter well enough to help prevent theft? Just curious since it covers that area

The cat is covered but if they want it they will go through and get it. It is a time deterrent but not an end all be all prevention.

Nope, I got the TRD Pro coating CBI offers. It is pretty close to the TRD but a little more silverish-grey…still very close.

I wondered about that. I thought the TRD skid for the 2020 Pro was actually bare but guess it is coated.

If you zoom in at 7:00 from the T in TRD you will see where I scraped my skid and you can see the powder coat vs the aluminum.

Ultimately if a crook wants them they will cut through or rip off the skids. You can see I can reach the cat but it would be pretty tough to get a saw-zall in there. Sorry the pics are dark, lighting is bad. I would still go the CBI route because they make a known good product and you do get some coverage for your car. While I don’t want mine stolen I went with function of the skid and I know CBI has done their homework.

Yea usually they want to be about 2 min cutting them, so if anything takes longer they may move on. I want the skids. The cat coverage is just a bonus

    Thanks for the pics man!
