Pretty cool. I bought a 79 Wagoneer just thinking it would have the same aftermarket support Wranglers/CJ did......boy was I wrong. That damn 360 was an odd ball and expensive. Interior parts were damn near nonexistent.

That's because AMC! With those ol jeeps you gotta get creative. Look past the name plate and look at each individual component. My buddy built a pretty wicked AMC 360 for his AMC javelin (I think that's what he has, I forget). The axles should be Dana's the tcase one of the NV/NPs.

I want to see a side shot compared to what it use to be. I've got my XJ in hand now so it's time to start figuring out what kind of crazy path I want to go with it

That truck was sold a few years ago. I had the engine rebuilt with aluminum heads, intake, and all other new shit(except for the crank). It was just expensive and not many options. It just didn't have very good aftermarket support. Not for someone like me that doesn't build shit
Team Grand Wagoneer and BJ's offroad were damn near the only place to find things new. And then it was still limited. The tail lights for my 79.....you could get the driver side, but the passenger side was discontinued.

I wanted to put a 4.0/AW4/NP231 with later model Grand Wagoneer axles in it. But when I found out that I couldn't hardly find interior parts(door cards, headliners, etc).......it got put to the side for 5yrs and eventually sold.

Working fast is not my forte   I've had a Stealth Arms 80% 1911 sitting around for probably 5yrs. I've never even taken the parts out of the bags   I've got a good bit of Tacoma shit that's been laying around for a year or more :anonymous:

I do enjoy building AR's though. I just haven't had all the necessary parts and wasn't gonna pay the outrageous prices. I shopped around until I found decent deals. Plus, when the asshole stole my 8.3" upper, that put a damper on things. Only thing I needed at that point was a BCG and the $200 tax stamp. I also was holding out in hopes the suppressors would be taken off the NFA list........and I highly doubt that will ever happen

I know the feeling lol, I have way to many projects. But I was waiting around for them to be taken off as well and I agree it will never happen now.

There is hope. Public opinion on suppressors have changed a lot in the last few years. Texas passed something recently

    Sup Preston
But you can buy them over the counter in England
The D44's that came in most years was a good axle. There were a few years in the 80's that had vacuum disconnect fronts and 1-piece AMC 20's in the rear(not to be mistaken for the weak AMC 2-piece that came in CJ's). The later years had the centered rear D44. Mine had an offset rear pumpkin b/c of the full time case(I think NP229).

I have one with just the rear finished, got the front cut and working on the front flares. They will look just like the rear but reversed. It will look different when I get the tires on it.

Wyatt Earp I aint. That said, I still outshoot my younger brothers even offhand. Last time we were shootin at those little sticker pins (.25 inch) used for pinning up paper at 25 yards with a .22 rifle. I won. Have an old Sears .22 with the small bead sight. Still accurate as heck. Its a bolt action and tube fed which there arent a lot of.
