Thanks. I have a few rare ones there. Based on some stampings from reconditioning stamps, that stagg handle Colt 45 at the top app was issued out in several wars.

There's a 32cal Browning pistol there that was made during a period when the Nazis occupied the Browning factory during WWI. They made pistol for their officers and stamped swastikas on them.

My go to carry pistol not in the pic is a 38sp+p Ruger LCR. I like a small size carry gun. I have no plans to visit Chicago, so no need for a 15 round clip.

My Makarov 9mm is a close 2nd choice for carrying. It's the 4th one down on the left. Shoots like a dream, never jams, just doesn't have the punch that 38 has when it's loaded with Hornaday or Federal 129gr.

Hey, don't insult me! :) Of course I have pictures.

Basically, front to rear. I don't have one of the area where the front cap attaches, but I am guessing you can get that.

Were these on your extended cab? The mounts so different from how I usually see it.

Yeah the silver one I bought wrecked. I took one look at that mounting system and thought, "if I don't take pics of this I'll never figure out how to put them back on".

Be sure to post a pic of your Dad's truck with the running boards mounted. I don't think I've ever seen a pic of his Taco.

sadly the mounts won’t work on the double cab body, BUT I have a line for the correct brackets. The board is indeed correct though

Oh damn. Well, as long as the board length is good, that's the main thing. Hope it works for your Dad.

    @AXH_127

    Nice to meet you today.

I have a few more things to pass along about the 1st gen trucks like yours. Other than our discussion on cooling system and fuel injector health, probably the biggest maintenance items to take care of with 210,000 on a 2.7L truck is to confirm these two items: lower ball joint health; and valve adjustments. If you are in contact with the previous owner, I'd ask about both of those. If either is over about 60-70,000 miles ago, they are due. For lower ball joints, don't go cheap.

Both items get neglected. Exhaust valves tend to tighten on the 2.7L and that can result in a cracked head. And a poor suspension design on these Tacomas has resulted in the lower ball joints being a part that can cause severe failure of your front suspension. The front wheel assembly can separate and collapse.

This has happened to numerous members on this site:

Those are the two most urgent maintenance items. Of course other things like diff fluid changes, spark plugs, MAF sensor cleaning, etc should be on your list.

Frame rust is also a big problem on rust belt vehicles like ours. Especially where the leaf springs meet the frame. You can check by tapping with a hammer. If you get a dull thud tone vs a bit of a ringy tone, that area has internal rust.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/1st-gen-tacomas-1995-2004.4/

As I mentioned today, the search function in the top RH corner of of the 1st Gen Tacoma (1995-2004) page can bring up info on just any part on your truck.

Also, @Empty_Lord and I are your fellow Hoosier friends who can give you advice and help with problem solving.

@AXH_127 is someone I met today who works at TMMI. Paint shop member. He is a recent purchaser of a 2.7L manual 4x4. I told him we could give him advice when he needs it.
Thanks in advance for any support.

Thanks for the tips, i know the previous owner said the ball joints were replaced but not sure how old they are, i'll give everything a look. I'll post more on what was done on the truck within the next week and send some pics of the parts/area's you mentioned above.

Been busy today. But I’ll be around for @AXH_127 if he has any questions.

but I have a question for you? Is your camry a 2003? Because I have a brand new steering column for it that I have literally zero use for. It just doesn’t have the intermediate shaft… parts department mix up. And now I’m stuck with it (they made right for the customer… we just had to eat a whole column)

It's a 2003.5. Doubt it makes a difference, but there was a mid year model change with VVTI adoption on the 3.0. I got the first VVTI to roll out of the local Toyota dealership. Feb 2003.

Sure. I have a friend at work who has a 2003 with about 260,000. He may need if if I don't.

Thanks man. When I get my CNC setup, maybe I can make something worth trading for it!
