thats why there would always be a pool of oil as high as the fill plug where it would suck out of the supercharger. it is its own closed system that moves only 1 ounce per minute. you could have a second catch can pressure relief up higher if something happens like It could even have a pressure sensor on it to a warning light if it activates. I think it wouldn't be hard to keep a pool of oil alwaysbathing the bearings, the hard part would be not overheating the tiny electric pump

I've been making my way through the pages in this thread past couple of days, lots of great info in here. I'm wanting to pick up a supercharger, hopefully late 2021/early 2022, but I need to replace the clutch first. I know @1997tacomav6 has gotten good lifespan out of the OEM/Aisin clutch, and I'm leaning towards that. But does anyone that's supercharged wish they had a different clutch setup? Some of the 4runner guys seem to like the Centerforce clutches, but they don't seem to be as popular here on TW.

This thread is gold. I used it along with a couple others to put my shopping list together. I ordered all my supercharger stuff for my '98 last night so I'm pumped,

I ordered the URD combo kit & Doug Thorley headers. I also ordered a methanol kit, the Corolla thermostat recommended here, Snow Performance stage 2, those new NGK spark plugs, Borla exhaust & AEM O2 & boost sensors. I also ordered a 2000 4Runner hood w/ scoop & found a guy that does metal fabrication who thinks he can replicate what @1997tacomav6 did w/ his.

More to follow as my crap arrives.

How many of you guys run the brass needle valve in the bypass?

Specifically guys with the Auto Trans.

My oem clutch started slipping about 2k after I supercharged my truck. The clutch looked brand new besides a few hot spots when I pulled it out. It just couldn't take the power once I went to the 2.2 pully. I went with the 6 puck stage 4 from competition clutch that urd sells. for the first few months it is aggressive but once it wears in it drives pretty nice. It makes the truck really fun to drive and fun to launch. when it grabs it really grabs you launch hard or do a burnout

There’s a little brass needle valve in the vacuum hose of the bypass. Usually stuck in the plastic nipple of the bypass. Remove that for boost to come on much quicker. But there’s a reason Eaton put that there.

Likely for fuel mileage/comfort reasons. It slows how fast the valve closes.

If you try with and without it feels sluggish with the valve. Ive been leaving mine out. But I’m also kind of an idiot.

likely wont hurt anything. but im no expert. i know some buddies with more powerful blowers on other cars install restriction valves to slow the boost building up to help keep the wheels planted, and more so, avoid jerkiness

lil ol m62 can make the 3.4 peppy. but i wouldnt ever expect FAST.

im years away. ( i want to enjoy the 01 for a while when its done) but eventually i have a bad feeling i'll add a turbo to the truck and use the bypass to make it work with the blower.. just because i can. we'll see. but first. that truck hasnt ran in 5 years

Anyway, whatever y’all do do not ever invest in PLX. Garbage company with mediocre product that took a fantastic idea and ruined it.

still bummed out the daisy chained sensor concept didn’t work out.

    Ended up with an innovative

    PLX is Kickstarter bullshit.

If you’re feeling a sudden surge in power it’s not the needle valve. You’re running lean in boost, knock sensors are picking up something, or one or both knock sensors are bad.
