Back and forth, do what gives you comfort and forget the opinions of others. Facts are optional, opinions are mandatory (and often worthless).

I do mine every 5k with mobile 1. It's less than $30 and gives me piece of mind that I have fresh oil.

I have 170k on my truck, did dino oil every 5k up until a year ago. Just got my Blackstone report after 10k on Mobil1 10w30 synthetic with very good results. I daily the truck like a car, very little 'truck' use.
So based on this I don't see a reason to change it any more often then 10k.

I’m working on cost analysis per procedure survey.

I’m calling standard cost to wrap your hand with paper 3x, then transfer the wad to your finger tips so the entire wad is between your fingers and butt hole.

Half cost to follow the above procedure then fold in half to wipe again.

Double cost to skip the transfer procedure so half the paper is unused.

Who spends what on toilet paper?

Thanks for posting the lab results.

Do as you like. 10k- 12k?
I can only say, “check the level”

    I personally do - Conventional 5w30 @ 5k.
I’m too lazy and cheap to send of for a report.

I sampled when I changed the oil at 10k. Sent in for the report because I was curious about oil condition at that point (I used to do 3k oil change before the taco), and overall condition of the engine at 170k (coolant, gas, metals in oil). Now I won't be worried if I do a few miles past 10k before an oil change.

It is also quite good advice if you read forums, a lot of fool's gold with an occasional nugget.

If you want to save $$ on TP, then you need to change your cleaning technique.

1 square is enough. How you ask.

Step 1. Fold 1 square into quarters.
Step 2. Tear off the corner at the center.
Step 3. Unfold. You should have a small hole in the center of the square.
Step 4. Set aside the small torn off corner. It will be used later, Step 8.
Step 5. Insert finger through hole in center of the square.
Step 6. Use finger to execute the cleaning procedure.
Step 7. Use the square to wipe off finger.
Step 8. Use saved piece to clean under finger nail.

    Done.

it's more time-efficient to not wipe at all

I don’t change my oil. I create a leak in the pan gasket and just always add fresh. I expect to get about 3 million mil out of it.
