    Anyway, if you do want to remove the needle valve get some extra vacuum hose then carefully CUT the hose off of the bypass. You stand a good chance of breaking that nipple off if you try to pull the hose off. It’s just plastic and a bypass is $150.00. I broke mine but it was a clean break and I was able to thread a brass nipple in there.

    i didn't know that.. he drove it and jumped it like a baja truck. I bet if he didn't abuse it so badly be just fine with a super turbo setup.

    It’s the transition from switching loops, I have this surge usually around 3000 rpms as it switches loops, scanguage shows that switch
    I don’t think the 1st gen had this valve you are referring to

    I don’t have that issue any more with closed loop enrichment. That’s why I think leaning out in boost is part of the issue.

    Before the 7th and before tuning I did. That’s one of the selling points of the 7th “smooth transition”.

    A better buy for someone running methanol would be to buy the URD AFR sensor cal for $250 and ramp it down to WOT AFR. With this you can choose what AFR you want IN closed loop. Supposedly some people get issues and a light if they try to enrich past 13.5 but I’m at 13 right now. I just have not tried to go any richer than that yet. But since guys are using the AEM to get 12.5s in closed loop high boost I don’t see why I couldn’t. It works in the same way.

    I was also having issues with my knock sensors for probably as long as I’ve had the supercharger as well. I suspected them but since i didn’t get a light I didn’t just want to throw parts at it.

    Took nearly 4 years for that light to come on. Now that I have good sensors the drivability and smoothness all around is much improved. It’s a whole new truck.

    I went with Denso knock sensors. If they go out again I’m doing the GM swap. I sort of wish I just went ahead and did the GM swap. Toyota knock sensors seem so fragile. The OEM one I pulled out of my truck had something loose inside. I’m sure that was leading to tons of false knock.

    I struggled with the denso and did the gm swap a few months into the supercharger swap. I only run 1 mounted on the passenger side on the outside of the block right above the oil pan. I am my own ping & knock sensor

    My AFR is set around 11-12 and vary a little in either loop but not leaning out and I still get the surge of power regardless of AFR.

    Here’s the deal.

    We’re going about it in very different ways. We’re going to get different results. I’m not at all saying that my truck runs “perfect” or with “zero” issues. I’m saying by enriching in closed loop by manipulating the AFR signal I don’t get that surge like I used to.

    Yes, every setup is with different results.
    My haltech stand alone is being shipped out Friday finally, so open loop and close loop and MAF will not be used anymore and better timing numbers on the way, , yea!

    Yes. Be sure to get some extra hose to replace. And use a box cutter to cut the hose down the length of the nipple so it splits open.

    My 02 sensor just went out this week about 100k after installing it.
    95.00 part just ordered it yesterday.

    Have any of you guys gone electric fan instead of clutch fan. that was the first thing I did before the super charger and I was impressed how much quicker it revved It was decently quicker up to 60

    Let’s not confuse the nipple and the brass thingy. Not really a valve. Don’t know proper term. Regulator?


    it may be glued in. In that case I’m not sure how to help. Mine was loose. Maybe get a soldering iron and hold it to the brass until you can take needle nose pliers and turn turn it in the nipple. Then it’ should pull out.
