The route I'm thinking is pretty leisurely... but if people are looking to familiarize themselves with some of the fire roads/potential camp spots between Toualumne and Dodge Ridge, this would be a good tour.

Meet up Raley's in Oakdale on F st 8AM -> 37.77316, -120.83036

Meet up Speedway on Mono Way in Sonora 9AM -> 37.97666, -120.34377

Head up to just below Dodge Ridge and come back out of the woods in Cold Springs. At this time of year, we normally make it back out to Cold Springs Market on Highway 108 between 3PM and 5PM

Close to God's Bath and Jawbone Falls. Crosses the Clavey River a few times. At least one "water crossing" (if there is any water).

 

Sounds like fun. I would like to join the future adventure as I'm currently booked up for the weekend.

 

How often do you make these day trips?

 

I try to make them more often than I have lately. Been working on the truck a lot this year. I'll make at least a couple more day trips before I switch to hunting mode in mid September

 

The gas station/market at cold springs still isn’t accepting cards cash only currently

Good info! I was unaware. I guess we can all meet up there and run to a different station if anyone needs to.

 

It’s under new ownership, may be that way a wile it seems like

 

They are going to lose a lot of business that way.

 

Especially without a working ATM so that people can get cash. I don't mind cash only, but it kills me when there's nowhere to get cash near a cash-only business.

 

What's a different gas station that is close? I think we need to move our Sonora meet up location.

 

If you don't just want to have cash on hand next closest is Sierra Village
