Hi ya'll. New here and to the toyota world.
Just installed OME 2.5 inch suspension lift and wanting to fit 285/70r17 tires without a body mount chop. Would I be able to get away with 2 inch spacers so I only need to cut the fenders?

Are you talking about 2" wheel spacers?

more like a 2 inch leveling kit or body kit
    just to fit the 33s
I'm ok with a fender cut but not a body mount chop, although reading about it, they aren't too bad if you have the right person doing it.

A lot of factors go into fitment of tires. 2" lift can fit 33" tires.
BUT! Depends on the brand and style of tire, the alignment settings, the rim offset, etc……
Also depends on how much suspension flex you are planning to do?
No one can positively say if you can do it.
But the most probable is that you're going to rub with 33" tires.
So if you decide to go that route? Be prepared for the worst and hope for the best!
    It's not that bad. :)

If you're asking how you can reduce your chances of needing a CMC with 33" tires?
Get a set of SPC UCA with the lift and have the alignment shop move your tires as forward as possible. The do the "Viper Cut" to your front bumper.
But again depending on your rim width, brand of tire and offset of the wheels.

    Good Luck!
    Have Fun!

What wheels do you have? And you said you just installed an OME 2.5" lift, are you asking if you can put a 2" body/spacer lift on top of that to clear the larger tires?

Thank you so much for the info! May ask, what you are running and if you had to do any rear blocks, spacers, cutting and/or CMC?

I have Cooper AT3 LTXs in 285/75r16 on SCS F5 wheels (16x8, 4.5" backspace). OME-885 springs on Bilstein-5100 for 2 inches of lift. Stock control arms. Didn't do a CMC. Full caster dialed-in. No rubbing.

I'm trying to run Moto Metal MO962 17x10 -24 offset.
They look great and I love them. But they do rub WAY more than I anticipated.
Yes, a 2inch body/spacer lift to clear the tires a bit more so there isn't a need to do CMC.
Still do not want a large gap between tire and wheel well, so there may not be a way around it.

Sadly I no longer have a truck. (Currently awaiting a TRD Pro)
But the Cement Gray 2018 in my avatar had a 6" Procomp Lift with 35x12 R18 BFG KM2's, Fabteck Stainless CO's an add-a-leaf and blocks in the rear.
((Totally different than the set up you're asking about.))

My 2016 4runner was running 5100's with 285's and it had the CMC.
My 06' Tacoma was running 285's for about 2 yrs. with OME 3" lift it didn't have the CMC and it would rub while reversing and turning. and on articulation while off-roading. But street driving it was fine.

It all depends on what you're planning to do?
Most people just get what they want and do what it takes to accommodate that set up. With these truck there are so many variations of tire and lift combo's that it impossible to be certain if you'll have issues or not?

Don't forget about the famous "Shudder" after lifting your truck! Carrier bearing drop, harmonics etc.... Good Times! :)

Is your truck 4WD? Or are you just looking for aesthetics?

most definitely 4WD. Live in Colorado and anxious to go explore.
With all honestly, am I trying to fit too big of a wheel width and offset?

i ran 285/75r16 (same size) on my second gen with a 2.5" OME lift and did not have to cut my body mount. lots of offroading, stuffing tire, no rubbing. just get the alignment right and make sure you have the right offset on your wheels (not too much and not too little)

Not sure you'll be able to get around doing a lot of cutting with that width and offset to be honest. I have 17x9 -12 offset and I rubbed a lot with my 2-2.2" lift. I did a little fender trimming and CMC. I still rub a little on my fender in reverse at times.

Stacking a 2" puck on top of the suspension is definitely not ideal or recommended.

The 2" body lift isn't going to help with your tires not contacting the cab mount since the spacer actually goes on top of the cab mount.

    Outstanding!!!!
You understand where your issue is!
10" wheels give an awesome stance!
Since you have the SPC UCA's if you can find a good shop that understands how they work they can cheat you tire forward to help clear the cab mount. With a 2" body lift it will clear the cab. (I'm not really a fan of B/L)

Those wheels are suuuuper wide, 3" wider than stock. Even at -24mm you're going to have an additional ~1.5" of wheel on either side of the center line compared to stock. It's gonna be hard not to rub with those wheels and 285's no matter what you do.

If you don't want to rub and want 33's get some more narrow rims and go with a 255/85/16 or 255/80/17.

Damn. The stance is perfect. Don't think it will work well off road.
