It'd be rad if SP would sell a camper with no tent. Or a option for us to take the tent portion off and cap the top while we are not using it.

Why? It adds very little extra weight and the tent is encapsulated from the cargo area below when closed up. Making a “cap” wouldn’t make it much shorter, so it’s not like you’ll “fit in the garage” better.

I would think that's no longer a camper, rather a canopy, and there are lots of companies making those, as well as wedge tents that fit ontop of canopies.

I've seen a gofast proto floating around that's basically their canopy with their tent on a rack above.

Installed the Gzila brackets today with the t-nuts I got from Fastenal. I had to buy longer 1/4-20x3/4 socket head screws. The t-nuts worked okay, but I'd order some others next time. They only fit in a vertical orientation. I'm not sure if that's the correct way and maybe I ordered the wrong size after all, but it worked. A couple people mentioned ordering from McMaster, did those work out? If so, do you have a link or part number?IMG_1223.HEIC.jpg IMG_1296.jpg

Let me dig mine up. I am lacking on that. I ordered 4 different ones 1 at least that was listed then some other ones that seem to recess better and some that were flat like this. Also they use 8mm to keep it consistent with the rest of the X1.

Just wondering what t-nuts you ordered from McMaster Carr that are 14-20 or smaller? I need to install some other things. No big deal though if you don't have them handy. Like you said, I wanted to use 8mm to keep it consistent with SP, but the screws were too big to fit in the GZila brackets. I have a bunch of M8 t-nuts that worked out great for other things . . .

Probably just easier to grind down GFC t-nuts like others have done for anyone that is still planning on getting these. I just don't have a ton of tools here.

So what do we need? Custom sized T nuts with M8x1.25 threads? This would allow for general fitting of mounts right.. and match the rest of the camper.. Plus used for the below..

Then also a custom part to bolt to said T nut with the angled bore in it for the rear awning poles?

Just trying to gather info to see what I could come up with for a solution for everyone. Sold as a kit (Custom T Nuts and Mounts with hardware) and or a bulk kit of the Custom T nuts for general use.

so the hinges on the back door are designed to fit an insert for the poles - maybe you can use that somehow instead of mounting to the extrusion?

nope - it's on the list of accessories, hopefully sooner than later but who knows. there are a lot of ideas in the pipeline, but they need to work through the orders pending first in order to free bandwidth to work on the rest of the add-ons.

Where is this list? Searched through the FAQ page and couldn't find anything other than basic hinge info.
    https://www.superpacificusa.com/faq-page
    Thanks in advance.
Edit: ok, after reading your edit, thinking you meant "planned list of accessories" when I interpreted there was an actual published list that I couldn't find.

When i talked to them and placed my order, the coolest thing i was told is that any of the options they offer will work on the original camper design. So if they end up making it more roomy, an older camper can use this option. Very cool and smart idea.
