I find them occasionally, everyone who has one seems to think it is a $5,000 tractor...

Nicely styled little tractor, even pretty. They used a narrowed Dodge car axle driven by engines in the 4-6 hp range.

Well, let's see what we brought home yesterday:

This rear dump exhaust manifold is part of my reason for the road trip. It is uncommon for these Wisconsins, mostly used on fairly rare vehicle applications.
Also odd here, the carburetor is reverse of normal, pulling air from the output shaft side.
Also see the odd tube on the left side? Goes to the governor housing, there is nothing inside there but gears? Curious.

The small tube with the orange flag is the oil line for the governor.

Here is the normal setup, vertical exhaust with the flying saucer muffler.

You can see the carburetor facing the expected way.

This is a new one, a Sisson automatic choke. Used on 1940s Dodge cars commonly it seems.

It is a combination bimetallic and solenoid from what I read. The solenoid is only in play when cranking the engine, then the bimetallic takes over.

First one I have found on a Wisconsin.

Just picked this up for 45.00. Carburetor was off and apart. Christian put it back together today …. Runs and cuts like new…. Aluminum deck, gcv 190 I think is on it…. Blade clutch and the transmission works flawlessly…. Time to clean and sell….

You need to spend some time in South Texas before you come to your conclusion.

There are those who are tired of the snow and freezing thier asses off and move South, never return to the North.

There are those who are tired of the heat and sweating thier asses off and say they are going to move North, but never move.

    This is so true.

Living in Montana you get both extremes. The dry heat from hell in the summer and frigid cold in the winter. Once I left…I didn’t go back. California suited me well weather wise. I really enjoyed my time there.

All this lead me to CO. Depending on where you live, the weather is pretty good.

TX is on the radar after retirement. Need to spend some more time down there.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
You scored a "steal " there -- that is my mower exactly --this machine is flat out the best small mower I have ever owned and that includes all of my past 2 stroke lawn boys. That ower has never failed me - to start --and I was suspect of the auto choke system. Starts first pull after setting outside covered in winter with a full tank of treated gas (but carb. ran dry before storing) .when you use it as a bagger -- it will pick up wet grass right after a rain. Mine came with a 5 year warranty. An expensive little mower -but worth the extra spent! Are you sure that is not the composite deck??
