    Yeah, it sucks. Not sure how it compares, but I was in Bozeman during the summer of the Yellowstone fires ('88 I think). I still had links to eastern MT, so made several trips in that direction.

    It was a cell that formed in less than 15 minutes. I saw it coming but was on the other side of the lake. Got back to the ramp in time and loaded and then it opened up. At least my carpet got a bath and a vacuum.

    Never ever leave the house or office on a photo mission and arrive within 2 minutes ready to take pictures.
    Home inside temp is 70*
    Outside temp is 95*
    Fog on lens will take at least 15 minutes to equalize optics temp.
    Meanwhile, watch your #1 composition walk by, unphotographed. (VFW honor guard with flags, guns and cool hats)
