@ARCHIVE any reputable shops in the Mid-Atlantic/North-East I could have this done at?

All my big-boy tools and friends that could do this are across the country. I also don’t have garage at the moment, and I’m not keen on doing anything like this when it rains anytime I have time off from work.

Whereabouts are you located....exactly what area so we can get you into the right direction? Mid/Atlantic or Northeast is a little vague.

New Jersey specifically. Only shop I know of in-state is OK4WD. I’m not really sure if they handle this kind of thing and I know for a fact they’re schedule is full 24/7.

Getting ready to do this next Friday. Is there a set distance/location we’re supposed to mount the tower? Example: a set measurement from middle of the strike pad to the middle of the new tower.
    AD9E1A3F-B5E8-4E68-A4BD-2B30CE14C0F4.jpg

I also don’t see a consensus on whether notching the drivers side — like on the other relocation kit — is required.

Here’s what I did that worked for me.

    Tack lower mount horizontal

    Bolt shock into tower.

Zip tie the shock shaft to the lower mount.

Put a digital angle finder on the shock body and play around with the location of the tower until you get it as high as you can, shock centered in the tower, and shock has a 10° forward lean.

    Tack the tower in place.

Move onto setting the lower mount appropriately.

Tacking the lower mount horizontally just gets you in the ballpark of where it’ll be and it helps you get the tower where it needs to be.

    Hopefully this makes sense.

Makes perfect sense. So tack lower at 0°, move shock on an arc until it has a 10° lean, tack tower, then grind-off the lower and rotate it until 1” of shaft showing at compression.

Is there a set distance from the leaf spring perch to weld the lowers? I watched a video where they measured from a set point on the bigger relocate kit.

Notching is not required on DCSB bed support bracket, just grind the weld flat to bracket, some have weld that bubbles out.
Positioning forward corner of tower base under the rear corner of DCSB supprt bracket works nicely

Is it the same on ACLB? Same wheelbase but maybe the frame geometry might be a bit different.

Yup, you summarized it perfectly. And I put the lower mount 1.5” away from the leaf spring perch.

The frame rails are the essentially the same.
Look at pics in post 1 of the DCSB, of Glenn and Mventure

1.5 on center or 1.5 to edge closest to leaf perch?

Just some info for the knowledge base: The 3rd gen access cab doesn’t have that support bracket there to use as a reference. Here’s my drivers side which is clean along the whole top part:
    1F683863-9F11-4366-B236-B3290F43FC85.jpg

So doing the 10° forward tilt as @EatSleepTacos suggested seems like it might be an actual requirement for ACs. Not a lot of good reference points under there.

When you say support bracket, are you talking about the bed mount? The thing they were talking about trimming? That’s just a short bed thing. Here’s my drivers side rail, second gen access can, also nice and smooth. Like you said, really no reference point over there.

Yeah that’s what I/we were referring to. So it looks like I’ll be doing the angle finder trick this weekend  Getting the welder ready… hopefully my chicken scratch is good enough. We’re going to use flux core, so if gas is completely necessary I’d need to know ahead of time.
