This! In a large Mason jar, it will cocoon itself in there, then you'll have yourself a hawk moth for a pet when it comes out in springtime.

Yeah, jar with some slices in the lid, throw a couple of twigs or remnants of the mater plant in there, then put the lid on. Put on a shelf in garage or something. I've done it a few times, sometimes they'll cocoon on a twig, sometimes on the side of the jar.

I don't think it makes much difference. Surely not much hotter than outside, and they look to be thriving , cool shouldn't hurt either because they cocoon in the winter outside and hatch. When they come out as a moth they don't fly right away, but WHATEVER, it is they do, exercise wings before takeoff or something. So what I'm saying is you'll most likely get a chance to see the moth. Oh yeah, after it cocoons you can remove the lid if it won't wreak it.

Patrick O’Toole was on his deathbed. His brother Seamus at his side.

“Do somethin’ for me Seamus. It’s me dyin’ wish. Every year on my birthday, if you’ll pour a bottle of 20 year old Irish whiskey on me grave, that’d be grand”

“Of course Patrick. It won’t be a problem. Hope ya don’t mind that it passes through me kidneys first.”
