I would verify the leak issue before committing to the expense of new cats

Does VB stand for Venice Beach in CA? If you're in CA then you need 50 state/carb approved cats. There are quite a few aftermarket options for 1st gens though. 2nd gens+ don't have many carb options other than OEM

You have a 1998...in CA, 2000 and older vehicles have to get put on the dyno and do the sniff test so if your cats are bad or not 50 state approved they'll be able to tell. Nice thing about the 2001+ years is that you only get a visual and OBDII inspection. Less headache come smog check time.

I had Magnaflow cats installed 5 years ago and they've been doing great since, much cheaper than OEM. Although cat converter prices have skyrocketed in the last year or so

No, I’m on the other side of the country. It’s Virginia Beach, VA. We don’t have emissions checks here. I’ll have to check into after market cats. I think I’ll take it back up to the muffler shop and talk to them too. Thanks man!

Ah yeah then you have much cheaper options you can look into. Or even do the URD sim/O2 sim just to get rid of the CEL.

Pretty sure you can just buy new foam on eBay as well. I did that with the used 4Runner seats I picked up and it was well worth it.

agree with this. If it’s not an exhaust leak, it’s the cat. The shaking at idle could be a separate issue.

Or that the O2 sensor is loose. Nuts and studs deteriorate here in the rust belt!!

It's 1999 and older that have to go through the sniff test, fortunately for me.

From a trusted friend, it is my understanding that the feds have recently started cracking down on sales of defeat components like this. Further evidence is that URD has stopped selling theirs.

I painted my grill and put in new black enduro headlights and smoked brake lights. I think it looks pretty good

Looks nice, and clean. I notice the bottom of your tailgate, can you drop the bumper down?

First post here! Bought my taco recently with plans not to change it (lol) now planning on selling the Harley to make some changes to the truck. OEM TRD wheels with 33s, front bumper, and possibly sliders. Need to get a few things buttoned up on her too. Carrier bearing, u joints, and new leafs. Bought it with a fairly new transmission in it, and the rebuilt motor had 600 miles on it when I picked it up from a coworker. Today I looked around here for ideas and inspected a few things that I need to replace.

What do you mean “drop the bumper down”?
