Cruise control not working again; The green “CRUISE” light is on and it almost feels as though it’s trying to engage. However, I was trying it out on hilly residential streets at speeds below 30 MPH; Will have to try it out on the bypass tomorrow…

Still sounds like a possible loose connection somewhere.

I would agree; I’m pretty sure Pete can fix it and I can avoid dealing with H&R again…

Mine doesn't have it, but in general aren't cruise controls blocked under 30MPH?

I don’t think it’s blocked. It just doesn’t work very well once you get down to a certain speed. Probably even varies a little from truck to truck.

It was an early 80s vehicle (maybe my 82 Grand Prix) but cruise wouldn't engage under 30. I was told it was a safety feature of some kind.

Try playing with CC at those lower speeds. Set it at 37mph on a flat and on a hill and see what happens. Then at 33mph. And 28mph.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

You might have a point! Like I said, gonna try it on the highway. I’m 99% sure I tested it at 25 MPH before…

My friend got me a “heavy duty” outdoor flag a couple weeks ago, and the day I got it I found out the hard way that flags should not travel at highway speeds…

Not near me, just a very brief deluge of rain between like 7pm and 8pm last night; I heard Bensalem got hit though…

I discovered something while we were detailing the truck today; I freaked out because I thought the tire shine I used has messed up the finish, but then I realized only the paint on the front wheel skins was bubbled. I first discovered it when I noticed that a chunk of paint had actually chipped off…

The verdict? The heat from the front brakes is actually causing the paint to bubble and separate from the wheel skins…

Everybody on here knows that all Tacomas have a front disc/rear drum setup; The rear brakes don’t generate any heat, at least none that can be felt on the wheels like with the front brakes, and thus the rear wheel skins are fine…

    Factory wheels? For a 5-lug? MAYBE I’ll go X-runner, MAYBE…

Also, the gunmetal wheel skins didn’t do that; I’ll send them back to my uncle this winter and get them redone; What I really want to do is have the factory wheels painted gloss black and put chrome trim rings on them…

Contrary to popular belief, I like what I’ve done with the stock wheels…

I would bet they would work around 40 or so, though most of my vehicles didn't have the feature. My wife's Rav4 has it but I only use it on the highway.

What they said re takeoffs. Damn if I recall the kind, though it was a thread on here I think that some Mustang rims fit our trucks.

Worst case, I spent $300 for a refurbished set of the stockers for the 2005 Rav several years ago including shipping.
