a dab of loctite might help it from loosening.

    KTJO strikes again!

Im a little late but I received my a-pillar grab handle on Monday, but never received the plastic covers to go over the bolts. Luckily my install was smooth (about 5 minutes to install). 2 voicemails and an email so far and no response. Black duct tape on there for now.

Good suggestion. Why didn’t I think of that at the time? Too late now, it’s on there for good. I had so much a bitch of a time with that lower nut that I’m never willingly going to either loosen or remove it only to have to try again.

It is really funny as that should have been a major lesson learned from the very first ones sent.

How these goof offs are not doing 100% verification is beyond me. I supposed PnP extends to the shipping and received departments also. Toss it out and move on. :D

I would go very light if you use any, esp if using the supplied nutplate. Mechanical thread locking is common in nutplates, but they are usually higher aerospace grade, like @FreshMexicanTaco uses on his DMMs.

With the knowledge that the supplied speed nut is inferior quality, you’d think they would switch to a better one for future orders. Same with the bolts. I guess it’s easier to advise customers that they’re buying a problem than to fix it.

I think it’s ok as is. Not doing chin ups using the handle. :)

Doooood! KTJO 4x4 spammed a double quantity order for more handles after the initial suckage of the first batch. PnP mentality until the dying day. Right, wrong (mostly), or indifferent.

And, that is about the total worth of this mod.

I noticed the new Frontier doesn't have a driver's side grab handle either. The MFGs are omitting it for reason besides cost. Visability I guess.

hey now, mine is installed and is great for getting out of the cab, and looks good, too.

BUT, i happened to see a FB post last night about someone getting stiffed on their attempt to get a missing cover sent to them. the deluge of negative comments was shocking, one after the other, every one of them with a different complaint including several saying they put comments up on their her website that were deleted and only positive comments show or something. this chick is looking really bad, i'm just glad mine worked out. if i knew then what i do now i would not have pre-ordered.

Where I'm sitting, the KTJO 4x4 PoS handle does not block any view, but the right side one does just bit on the rear side of the pillar. The seating position is sorta fixed for me for reach to the wheel with the limited adjustment and my short-ish legs to the pedals.

The further back the seat is adjusted, the more left side blockage, but it is minimal in my estimation.

The new Tundra seems to have a drivers side handle on the pillar.

With weakened, yield metal, I stand by my assessment as a visual mod only on my Taco. I've put it to light duty use just three times since installation due to tight parking where the door couldn't be opened to the first notch.

i'm with you on that, so although i'm careful not to hang on the thing, it is still a pretty decent help getting out and keeping my low back from stressing.
