Buyer Beware: KTJO 4X4 Driver's Side Grab Handles w/ A Pillars, HUD, and Bowl Lights

These guys deserve a prize for their bad service. I actually got my driver handle somewhat quickly, it must have been about two weeks or so. My problem when it arrived was that they never included the installation hardware with the handle and pillar. I called them immediately and they said they'd send it the next day. A week passed and nothing happened. I reached out by email to customer service and on a separate email through their website. Never got a response.
Called a 2nd time, and the same guy on the phone said "oh it should have gone out already, I'll put it in a box right now and send it to shipping". A week passed and nothing. Called a 3rd time and he said the same thing as before. I waited another week and nothing. Funnily enough, they sent me an email to provide a review of their product. So I sent a review saying how the product was good but their service was trash. I took the screenshot of the response afterward cause it was hilarious: "sent to the store owner for approval". No wonder all their reviews were great on the site. They never posted my review but did finally send the hardware by mail, and even funnier now they don't even show reviews at all on the product page.

If you really want the grab handle and want to deal with them, prepare for some massive pain!

 

I swear, these KTJO 4x4 grab handle stories are getting better, in a bad way.

I hope you got your order in before R4T went “sold out” on their website.

 

At KTJO 4x4, they don't fix the problems. Just more of the same.

 

And of course, no torque spec given. Surely anyone attempting this knows exactly how tight is "not too tight". /s

 

When I tightened both bolts I went to a “snug” feel by hand. It loosened up a bit over time so I re-snugged. Feels solid but I’m not going ugga dugga that’s for sure

 

a dab of loctite might help it from loosening.

 

KTJO strikes again!

Im a little late but I received my a-pillar grab handle on Monday, but never received the plastic covers to go over the bolts. Luckily my install was smooth (about 5 minutes to install). 2 voicemails and an email so far and no response. Black duct tape on there for now.

 

Good suggestion. Why didn’t I think of that at the time? Too late now, it’s on there for good. I had so much a bitch of a time with that lower nut that I’m never willingly going to either loosen or remove it only to have to try again.

 

It is really funny as that should have been a major lesson learned from the very first ones sent.

How these goof offs are not doing 100% verification is beyond me. I supposed PnP extends to the shipping and received departments also. Toss it out and move on.

 

I would go very light if you use any, esp if using the supplied nutplate. Mechanical thread locking is common in nutplates, but they are usually higher aerospace grade, like @FreshMexicanTaco uses on his DMMs.

 

With the knowledge that the supplied speed nut is inferior quality, you’d think they would switch to a better one for future orders. Same with the bolts. I guess it’s easier to advise customers that they’re buying a problem than to fix it.

 

I think it’s ok as is. Not doing chin ups using the handle.

 

Doooood! KTJO 4x4 spammed a double quantity order for more handles after the initial suckage of the first batch. PnP mentality until the dying day. Right, wrong (mostly), or indifferent.

 

I hear you. I barely touch mine.

 

Sure does add symmetry to the look of the cab.

 

And, that is about the total worth of this mod.

 

I noticed the new Frontier doesn't have a driver's side grab handle either. The MFGs are omitting it for reason besides cost. Visability I guess.
