I knew at least one hard core drunk who took cocaine so that he could drink more and not pass out.

No, it didn't end well for him, notice I said "knew." Sad really, as he left a beautiful wife and two sons behind.

Didn’t have work this afternoon. Didn’t need a distraction on TW :D

Addiction doesn’t pick based on what you’re going to leave behind - one of the sayings that resonated with me.

This is the reason I'd want an F450 pick up.

If I didn’t have to occasionally head into Boston, or any other major city, I’d love to have a 450. Those things are badass!

I like the regular cab F450. Still would be kind of wide, but a SRW F450 would be more road friendly.

That it doesn't, or who else's life you will harm.

Yup. Not quite a triathlon, but try standing up for 12 hours straight (as a circuit semi pro or pro player would)..and having to be on your game every second.

I've never had a drink and don't like to advertise it. If someone offers me a drink, I turn it down but don't usually add that I don't drink because I find it just invites a bunch of questions.

I also find a surprising amount of people think not drinking (when that decision doesn't stem from alcoholism) means you will still have something at special occasions. Some of my girlfriend's family was surprised that I didn't make an exception for champagne at a wedding, for example.

For me, it just boils down to not knowing what it would do to me and having no interest in finding out.

The released the schedule for water fire in Providence this year. I can’t make any of them until November. Balls.

I'm just happy I don't drink like my parents. They drink EVERY SINGLE night. It's not like they get drunk but every night at 5pm it's cocktail hour. I just don't like alcohol that much. I almost never drink during the week unless I'm meeting friends for some reason. It also helps I don't really enjoy beer, mostly all I like is bourbon or a gin and tonic, but you can't drink that to excess unless you do have a problem and it would be pretty evident.

My body made the decision for me.. alcohol intolerance hit me a few years ago. Makes it easy to say no. I do miss my captain n ginger and Pete's wicked ale. Pete's is history but I loved that stuff.

I rarely mention I don’t drink unless it becomes an issue with someone pushing too much. My friend offered me $100 to take a sip of beer and spit it out and I just was like, I’m good.

My wedding we subbed in ginger ale and no one was the wiser. I ran into issues in China for work since it’s a cultural thing. I faked an illness to make it easier.

WTF who would think that the taste of beer is the enticing thing for drinking?

I remember a couple of years in being at an outdoor wedding and someone was bringing the champagne glasses (already filled around), when they got to me I politely said I don't want one. They heard me, put it in front of me and said "oh just drink it at the toast". I politely told her she will remove that from my place immediately or I will talk to her manager..which I did anyways.

You might well be one of the lucky ones. I can tell you some stories of my life back then..and a lot of them I have zero conscious memory of even whilst happening

People that drink aren't comfortable sometimes around people who don't. Theres the great "never trust a man who doesn't drink" which I spouted a lot when I was drinking, and then theres also the fact that we are told to not drink alone, and people want to do it socially.

@jethro @GarlicFarts a good beer is wonderful and I LOVE THEM. That's part of my drinking problem, I love the taste of 10-14% beers and I drink them like regular ones, only to be super drunk way to fast. They were a big part of my downfall, or rise depending on how you look at it ha.

@MikeyMcFly Last drink I had was at a friends wedding, after at the bar. My buddy said he'd take like 4 shots of whiskey if I had a beer. I ordered a small beer that was 3%. He proceeded to get drunk and in trouble with his wife, and I got a slight buzz and went home with mine. Would have been fun to deny him, but I wanted to see him suffer

Oh, and for you tire guys, well here ya go

It smells awful to me, I'd rather not either.

I like ginger beer. Reed's and Maine Root both make good ones but they're pretty expensive. Gosling's is decent - Stop and Shop has 1 liter bottles of that at 3 for $4, so that's what I end up buying most of the time.

There's a family history for me, so I figure it's best if I never find out if I have the same problem.

I'll save you the trouble, you do have the same problem. Everyone in my family and most in extended, if they do not pay attention find they have it too. Luckily our parents warned us when we were little, so it was always in the back of my mind that I need to be careful.

Yeah, my parents were okay but every one of my mom's brothers is an alcoholic - two are dead now as a result, one is functional and would think you were ridiculous if you said that, but the amount of beer he goes through is not normal. My mom tells me she worries a little bit about the amount my sister drinks.
