I was thinking soft topper since you can open and close the topper to cover your gear and will protect as much as you need. and open it up when you are using your tent and etc

 

I did. The 303 version. It lightened them up, but I can still see. Maybe try the Ragg Top version next.

 

When I get back from deployment I'll start the procrastination process again.

 

The downside of that is then I'll have to open and close the softopper every time I want to use the tent, which is just another step in the process I'd like to avoid. I'm not trying to totally waterproof this thing, just keep mud off of my camping chair tbh.

A Hard bristle brush with the cleaner worked for me.

 

I don't have any room back there. Half of the platform is the fridge and half is a tote with misc gear and a duffel bag. I could physically place it in the back on top of everything but then it's loosey goosey and I don't want it smacking my head.

 

Headliner MOLLE panel and bungies?

 

Yeah, a molle panel that covers the whole back wall up to the ceiling could be neat. But that'll be expensive and I'd really need to make sure all my gear mounted to that is secured well

 

I tried a hard bristle brush and an all purpose cleaner when I thought I had run out of the convertible top specific stuff and then a convertible brush with the cleaner. I have no clue what this mud is made out of, but it's bulletproof.

 

Maybe get the thing really clean and then use a convertible dye and re-dye the top? You can test it on the top.

 

I'll try more scrubbing first. That's the answer to everything.

You could make your own panel out of 18 ga steel?

That would be so time consuming, tracing out the molle pattern onto a sheet and then cutting it all out with a plasma cutter. It could certainly be done, but would be something that should be CNC cut in my opinion.

What about, instead of MOLLE, map out what you want to mount, mark holes, rivet and then bolt things on?

 

Yeah, that could be an option too. There's a bunch of ways to skin the cat here.
